I've always thought that hurling personal insults at your opponent weakens your argument. While it can be entertaining to listen to at times, mostly I just cringe whenever I hear a pro-liberty talkshow host doing that. (Alex Jones is a big sinner in that regard as well)

He is like pro-liberty Bill O'reilly.
