Adam will face someone (the Establishment's choice no doubt) (http://newmexicoindependent.com/39313/farmington%E2%80%99s-mullins-announces-run-for-cd3-seat) in the Primary as of today. So lets all kick it into high gear and win this thing.

He is a nice guy, not a neo-con, but has no chance to flip the dems and secure the swing vote

Here is a comment from the blog

I see Mr Mullins as a fine upstanding man. I just fail to see how an Oil and Gas man from the Republican Establishment has a chance in the general election. While both Adam Kokesh and Tom are both principled men, I know that only a leader with broad, non-partisan appeal can take this seat from the democratic machine represented by the incumbent. DC is in bad shape, overrun by special interests and partisan hacks; I believe the people of the 3rd will be better served by a man who knows how to lead troops to fight our common enemies, not a man who knows how to lead employees. Go Adam Kokesh!

Respect and Principle will win the day. Please comment respectfully in support of Adam

I am from Washington State and I am supporting Adam Kokesh.

The gentleman from WA raises another point. Adam Kokesh's stature as national leader in the fight to restore respect for our US Constitution, and the underlying principals that our freedom and prosperity depend on, insures him a vast pool of grassroots donors that opponents can't hope to match without help from the establishment that got us into this mess.

Marine, Take. That. Hill!

Go Kokesh!

Not good. This pulls money away from the general election and forces it into a primary. It also forces Adam to reposture for the Republican electorate.

Son of a bitch! We need to raise a good amount of money for Adam on November 5th! And we need that Gary Johnson endorsement!

Well this obviously isn't ideal, but Adam's got the jump on this guy and he's got far more money at this point in time. Doesn't appear to be a real threat, though some more money couldn't hurt.

How about everyone who can sends Adam $25 today?

What a jerk this guy is... unless he's really doing it because he's motivated to run for his own reasons. But I have this sneaking suspicion that he's been pushed into it by establishment Republicans who don't want to have to support a Ron Paul candidate. They'd rather lose the election altogether than admit that their brand of Republicanism doesn't appeal to anyone.

At least it's a self-fulfilling goal. "We'll run somebody that no one will vote for, so that we won't have to run somebody we don't like that people WILL vote for."

Argh. I kind of suspect this kills Kokesh's chances in the general election. The district has traditionally overwhelmingly voted Democratic, so the point is to run a unique kind of Republican with broad appeal (like Adam) who can define his own race. But now he's going to have to ignore non-Republican voters till after the primary, and risk alienating some Republican voters during the primary. It's a lose-lose situation for Republicans in Kokesh's district.

If the Republican leadership believes that they're job is to "win seats" (as they've said again and again), then they are about the dumbfuckingest group of people on earth, I've concluded.

No matter the reasons, it is simply what it is. Further, it most certainly does not kill our chances in the general. While we did what we could to avoid this, it was certainly expected that some would think it, and perhaps try. Plan A was no GOP competition, now we simply go to Plan B...

I have supreme faith in the strength of our message and know that voters on both sides of the aisle are waking up. In fact, the race might actually help in that regard - All press is good press... We have never presented ourselves as anything but what we are, and though that is a tightrope to walk at times, success awaits on the other side...

I do agree that any republican thinking anyone but Kokesh can take this seat, for the low taxes, limited gov't, pro-liberty, constitutional crowd, is delusional.

Of course, the more help we get the easier it'll be for us. That includes reposting of videos through your facebook walls and adding http://thisnovember5th.com/AdamKokesh.htm in the comment. It includes people stepping up to the $1k Challenge (http://kokeshforcongress.com/1k-challenge), organizing bake, and yard sales, and getting ready for some other things up our sleeve ;). For certain posting the Nov 5 link everywhere is the most pressing. Even better, call up all your friends and ask them to sign up. That truly is the most effective way... If we could start working up the rankings, it'll drive the others to work hardeer as well, and this thing could really take off. It would absolutely cause a LOT of political pain for this bomb to be a blow-out.

GO. GRASS. ROOTS!

Here's a link to the Mullins web site. He's definitely going to make a play for Kokesh's base - note the book he's holding on the "What is Tom Reading" page:

For you guys in Adam's district-- how would a Gary Johnson endorsement affect this race? Do the Democrats in NM have a favorable image of Gary Johnson? It looks like GJ is becoming politically active again so I'm just curious.

Yes, a GJ endorsement would be good. Still early though...

The district is kinda like Chicago. Lots of republicans are registered as democrats for business reasons...

The machine needs to be smashed...

You can help :)

This is evidence that Mullins is a poser. He knows how to present himself in order to appeal to libertarians, but if he really was one, he wouldn't run against Adam.
