During the 2008 presidential campaign, we concluded early on that supporters of libertarian-leaning candidate Ron Paul were nuts. Straitjacket-worthy, in fact.
Of course, ten months into 2009 (a.k.a. the year America turned into a Socialist Oligarchy), we’re giving all of them a surprisingly clean bill of mental health.
Particularly this Ron Paul supporter. Oooh, and these supporters, too.
Ron Paul – though quirky and currently unelectable at the national level – nonetheless embodies in his eclectic irrelevance the fundamental ideological principles required to restore American Republicans, and the American Republic, to greatness.
In fact, if there were 534 other Ron Pauls in Congress right now, the American taxpayer might stand a fighting chance.
That obviously isn’t going to happen, but Paul’s son – Rand Paul – is running for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky.
Not only that, he’s raised more than $1 million over the last three months, much of it from the same Internet movement that funded his father’s presidential bid. Paul’s total dwarfs the $640,000 raised by Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who is the choice of the Republican establishment in the Bluegrass State – as well as the national GOP.
Does Paul stand a chance? Recent polling from Rasmussen reports would indicate that he does.
Frankly, we’re thinking of cutting the guy a check today.
Why not?
We’re all for doing anything we can do to hasten the demise of the “GOP” establishment (you know, the ones whose abandonment of fiscal conservative principles ushered in the “age of Obama”).
The old GOP needs to be destroyed, the earth salted, and a new party built up in its place.
Seriously, people … just look at this Grayson douchebag. He’s literally sweating out establishment, partisan, special interest talking points.
