still dont like particulate pollution...how bout we capture the co2 from manufacturing and use it to grow algae to turn into fuel to run the factory which produces co2 to grow the algae to make the fuel

the Germans i worked w/ at Siemens called it a "closed loop" system...this is while i was working on circuit breakers, but the concept transfers and scales...food is trash-trash is food.

it is all about efficiency and that includes material stream management-it always has.

a measure of the success of a "culture" is the result of these resource streams.

you can eat dandelions.

we don't know how to use the tools around us (because we are overly specialized)

It's true, there are a lot of very intelligent surfers out there, and surfing can be an extremely spiritual experience..

There's a saying out there that 'surfing is the only true religion'. It's not said by many, but I tend to agree with it.. even though it has it's faults just like all other religions (i.e. bad people who are apart of the religion)

When people burned coal to heat their homes, there was a heck of a lot more particulate pollution. When I was a kid, the snow would often be black with soot.

I didn't worry about it much because it would always rain and the particulate would run down the drains in the streets.

It seems to be a pretty standard debunk session based on energy balance and the report from MIT. I'm curious about the "other study" he mentioned that supposedly found the same thing...

Sorry, that was just my initial impression.

It bugs me too. This is the reason I stopped listening to talk radio. I could take NPR and weed out the truths from the lies but the lip smacking pushed me over the top.
