WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama called on Congress Wednesday to approve $250 payments to more than 50 million seniors to make up for no increase in Social Security next year. The Social Security Administration is scheduled to announce Thursday that there will be no cost of living increase next year. By law, increases are pegged to inflation, which has been negative this year.

So we have negative inflation.... that means we pay less for things.. so Obama wants to reimburse us for paying less for things?

It's because last time with the 1st Stimulus Obingo gave $250 to SSI's. Those are the people you see on the 1st of the Month that have never had to work a single day in their entire lifetime nor' do they pay a single penny of taxes. They only pay sales taxes, if they live in a Sales tax state.
In California, an SSI get's an added extra amount of tax free cash called SSP.
That's SSI=Supplemental Security Income and SSP=State Supplemental Payments.
SSI comes from the FEDERAL General Fund.
SSP comes from the California General Fund.
SSI & SSP is given to any and all OVER AGE 65 Illegal Aliens in California called, CAPI.
The reason SS, Social Security is BROKE is because it was dumped into the General Fund from it's safe, Social Security Trust Fund.
This was done to RAID the Social Security tax alloted dollars.
It also made it EASIER for the Government to GET AHOLD of the Social Security Tax Dollars so they could give it to the POOR, SSI's that have never had to work a single day in their entire lifetimes, AND may OWN A HOME FREE & CLEAR OF ANY SIZE OR ANY VALUE WHATSOEVER!
There's no limit as to HOW much of a HOUSE an SSI can own.
I have delivered Meals on Wheels before to a person living hand to mouth in California getting per Couple $1,569 per month, TAX FREE CASH, and their home value being worth $750,000 in Eagle Rock, right in-between Burbank/Glendale and Pasadena.
The SSP portion is one BIG REASON California is flat broke too.
As well as issuing Checks to Illegals over age 65+ and to the Children of Illegals, Anchor Babies can get SSI & SSP checks too.
They get $907 of Tax Free cash per individual in California.
Don't forget too that an SSI & SSP in California also qualifies for MediCAL & HUD-Section 8 Housing Vouchers & HUD-Section 8 Homeownership GRANTS & 1% Homeownership Loans!
They also qualify for CalGRANT 'B' the Entitlement College GRANT that pays up to $9,700 after the first 15 months of full-time college Credits time.
That coupled with the Federal fafsaPELL GRANT of $4,200 is a pretty TAX FREE penny.

The difference here is the Senior Citizens on Social Security PAY TAXES on their Income, and SSI & SSP pays ZERO their whole lives thru, no taxes at all.

He did NOT give the Senior Citizens on Social Security (pays taxes) during the 1st Stimulus, no COLA, and DID give a check to SSI/SSP's of $250 (pays ZERO taxes) in the 1st Stimulus.

I want to offer evidence as to what has happened to California BECAUSE of it's EXTRA SSP check added to the Fed SSI check.

It's the draw of that TAX FREE, WORK FREE Cash Check(s) each month in Cali, plus the fact Illegals over age 65 can come in and get them some free cash checks too, as well as Anchor Babies, just for not being able to Speak English, or having a low IQ.
I live in a commuity in California that has 90%+ SSI/SSP residents. They OWN their homes thru Inheritance, and they are nice BIG California Ranch homes on spreads of land too.
Before California went flat broke, they were also getting assistance with their Property Tax bills, and IHSS checks.
That's where the girlfriend or boyfriend, both being on SSI/SSP, could get paid from IHSS for their CARE like Cooking and things like that.
BUT, California realized that IHSS was being USED and Misused and abused and cut it off because the state is broke.
