Yup, I just read several stories about it, conflicting reasons for the cop being there.A neighbor that hates the dog that many other neighbors love and play with.
Glad everybody lived this time.

That cop doesn't belong with a gun. There were a few better ways to approach the problem:

1. Get closer so that you are sure you won't miss your shot.

2. Get closer and use pepper spray on the dog.

3. Get closer and use your nightstick on the dog's head.

4. Get closer so that you can properly assess the situation before you go ahead and ASSume that the dog is attacking the person, thereby making 1., 2., and 3. unnecessary.
