As much as I dislike Duncan Hunter, I don't think stuff like this should happen.

Poor guy, he sends thousands of troops to die and someone hacks him. That's not fair to Duncan Hunter. :(

Awesome got a screenshot!
I'm betting if they haven't fixed that by now that Hunter is dead in the water.

That's a joke right? This guy is in the top 22 most corrupt politicians of all time, he deserves much worse than this.

There are A LOT of things that the hacker could have done. This was pretty tame and enough to make his point.

How can you say that? He built something like 12 miles of fence, personally with his bare hands, and is keeping millions of illegals out of this country every day!

I don't care if the target was a scumbag or not. I dislike underhanded things like this. To me it's the equivalent to somebody spraypainting gang tags on a house.

I'm sorry some of you disagree.

Alls fair in Love and War. Hunter wants War with these people soooo, it was fair play...........and funny.

Well I guess it depends on who does this. Normally I would agree that this is bad taste, but it appears that it was someone of the Muslim faith and culture and they are being killed right now in the Middle East, so I say it is ok for them.

As much as I don't want to believe it, this thought did cross my mind. Assume that Hunter had a horrible fundraising quarter - which is probably quite accurate. What better way to grab some media attention than to have the site hacked? It looks very amateur and for it to remain "hacked" for this length of time is quite suspicious.

Again, I hope this would not be the case...but it is politics!

this is so tame, I wonder when they have it timed to pull his site totally.

His website, his rules. I don't like it when people subvert private organizations. The limited campaign money Duncan Hunter has is now going to have to be directed to fix the problem.

We certainly wouldn't like it if someone did it to us, and would accuse them of trying to silence the message. In fact, I bet Duncan Hunter can use this as a fundraising opportunity.

Blow Back.

Lets just keep this in the arena of ideas.

a lot of hacks do this. they prob highjacked his domain name as well. They are going to have to pull the whole site down and start over with a different domain. (maybe)

Yeah, looks like it could be a publicity stunt.

McDermit
10-01-2007, 09:25 AM
It's not a publicity stunt. The defacer has a zone-h profile with over 800 other sites he's defaced. And TurkStorm is a group of about 10 little Turkish script kiddie wanna-be hackers.

And it's not exactly what I'd call a "hack" either. It's a relatively simple SQL injection and his programmer should be fired for allowing it to happen. It's a very basic security hole that anyone with experience should have known to patch.

Assuming that the programmer has a backup, his site *should* be back to business as usual as soon as the programmer wakes up and turns on his computer.

That's really sad that SQL Injection still works these days.. It's called a single-quote.. USE IT or better yep, use parameterized queries (although they're such a pain in the butt)..

They just fixed it. Now to fire that silly programmer... lol

lol. Watch thespoof.com get wind of this and have some fun at RP supporters' expense.

This is hilarious. Last night RP closed with awesome donation totals, and this morning, I get to see a war-monger's site defaced by a script kiddie. Awesome way to start October. lol'ing.

How can Hunter guarantee security for America if he can't secure his own web site?
