This was posted by a guy on a finanical site I frequent.

Do you love political lies more than truth? That is pretty much the whole of the issue with Ron Paul. It really isn't a left vs. right issue - not at this juncture.

At this juncture you've got Ron Paul on one side and you've got all the Demopublicans - everyone from Hillary to Mitt Romney - on the other. Whatever individuates the members of the Demopublican mob (national medical insurance or not; one mideast war 'strategy' or another; tweak the tax code this way or that; personal welfare or corporate welfare; etc.) IS AS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT UNITES THE MOB.

The Mob - Hilary, Obama, Gore, McCain, Guliani, Romney - are of one mind on what should matter to you most:

The agree that you are to be manipulated; kept in the dark; ruled; trained like a dog and led on a tight leash; taxed in excess of 50% of your earnings to enlarge Federal government. They agree that you are generally not competent to make important decisions for even your own life ... and so far as making decisions for the country? They all agree that you are a moron, an imbecile, a weak-willed baby - who must be strictly managed by one of their elite group, for your own good, from cradle to grave.

They all believe that lying through their teeth to you is what you need, what you deserve, the only way that America can be managed. Oh, yes, and they all believe that THEY are above the law, above the masses, and should be showered with wealth and power and adoration in return for their deigning to RULE you.

That's the key unifier - the KEY to whether you should support Ron Paul ... or one of the "politically correct" others. There is NOTHING in Ron Paul's message to frighten either a fiscally conservative Republican or a socially liberal Democrat. If you oppose Ron Paul it is really YOUR LITMUS TEST. Only if you believe that citizens must be micro-managed will Ron Paul threaten you; only if you are a socialist - a believer that humans must be governed as animals are governed.

Do you believe in individual freedom - that Americans were, once upon a time and could be again capable of being self reliant, able to judge character, and capable enough of common sense to manage a representative Republic? Then, support Ron Paul - like you have never supported anyone before...he is the only clear voice you are getting in this election, and maybe for the rest of your lives.

Or do you believe that nearly all Americans belong in a petting zoo. If living in a petting zoo is your ideal, then - by all means - pick one from the DemoPublican mob. It doesn't really matter which one you choose from that mob - Hillary or Romney or anyone else - they are completely interchangeable on a deep philosophical level. They all want to be your keeper - for your own good, of course, your thinking must be managed.

You can find any government you want in the DemoPublican ticket ... so long as it is MORE government and you let one of THEM - the Elite - ride around on your back, steer you with a bit between your teeth, whip you from time to time, and feed your oats and hay every day. All for your own good, of course, because you are incompetent.

So, you see, Ron Paul is YOUR litmus test.

Another good article, thanks Meg44.

Would it be possible to post the link to that. I only ask because I study economics and like financial sites that promote a free market perspective. I can only imagine that this site fits the bill. Thanks!

What "they" fear is conscious thought. If people actually begin to think and question, the gig is up. Spread the word. It is Ron Paul's message or perpetual statism.

Too many Americans are anesthetized by "bread and circuses".

I had a great 5th grade teacher who preached that we need to be able to teach ourselves, to think for ourselves. Many Americans aren't doing that and Ron Paul is one of the very few politicians who doesn't want to treat us like we're idiots, babies, sheeple, whatever.
