Obama appointee lauded NAMBLA figure

Kevin Jennings, President Obama's Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug FreeSchools at the U.S. Department of Education, is in hot water this week for having failed to report that a 15-year-old sophomore student in his school had told him of having sex with an older man.

But failure to report what appeared to be a case of statuatory rape of a child may be the least of Jennings' worries. Lori Roman of Regular Folks United points to statements by Jennings a decade or more ago when he praised Harry Hay of the North American Association for Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which promotes the legalization of sexual abuse of young boys by older men.

Roman provides damning details and links here. She also notes that Jennings wrote the forward "to a book called *****ing Elementary Education. And another fellow you may have heard of wrote one of the endorsements on the book jacket—Bill Ayers." Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber from the 1960s who is just an "acquaintance" of Obama.

Every presidential administration ends up with scandals inspired by controversial appointees, but typically those tend to revolve around financial improprieties, conflicts of interest, or some other form of white-collar misconduct. For Obama, the scandals seem to be develping in a pattern of disclosures revolving around radical left ideology that raises questions about their fitness for any job in government.

And that in turn raises the inevitable question: Is nobody minding the White House personnel store?

UPDATE: Who was Harry Hay?

Folks at Media Matters are agitated by the above post and others pointing out Jennings' praise of Harry Hay and the latter's link to NAMBLA. Hay was not an employee or official of NAMBLA, but was during his later years, according to his entry on Wikipedia, a frequent defender of the group, including this 1983 statement: "[I]f the parents and friends of gays are truly friends of gays, they would know from their gay kids that the relationship with an older man is precisely what thirteen-, fourteen-, and fifteen-year-old kids need more than anything else in the world."

MM has a point - Jennings praise of Hay was not specifically in the context of the latter's support of NAMBLA. Readers will decide for themselves whether it is appropriate for an individual who publicly praised an advocate of pedophilia to be appointed Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education for Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

Here's the book he wrote the forward to.

I give up.
We are so thoroughly fucked in every way that there is no way to right this ship. The State wishes to dictate even our thoughts from cradle to grave. Nothing is Sacred, not even the children.

I know -- I can't BELIEVE Obama wouldn't have investigated his "Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug FreeSchools at the U.S. Department of Education" further before appointing him!

Hey, did you know Obama's mom is NAKED on the Internet?!

Beck (and Hannity, ugh!) have been running with this story for some time now.

They have also been talking about his associations of one of the lead members of Nambla.

LOOK! - When I was a teen, I had a GF that was in the 30-32yo range.... I never regretted it. It was great! I entered the relationship with open eyes, and enjoyed it. So did she. The last thing either of us wanted was the federal or state government poking their noses into it and telling us it was "inappropriate" - FUCK THEM! I am NOT a "victim" and I Have NO "emotional scars" I was never taken advantage of. Just have good memories.

For the record, I have never had sex with a teen outside of HS, with one exception... early 20's... (me) she was 16. Legally Emancipated, had a 2yo child, attending college, working... I had honorable intentions, wanted to raise a kid. We had sex once. She chose the biological father over me and I don't blame her. We went out like 3 times....

I have also NEVER had sex with a pre-teen - they simply do NOT attract me! I am incredibly annoyed with the MSM's portrayal of anyone attracted to anyone under 18 as being a "pedophile" (not to mention Congress). The psych association makes a clear difference - pre = pedophile, post = something else - starts with an "E" - don't remember the term... The second is NOT classified as a psychological disease! and a full 20% of males find post-pubescent (but under 18) girls attractive. Note that most models are between the ages of 12 and 18... There is a reason for that. YOUTH SELLS! Girls in that age range give me wiplash - mostly the ones tward the 18 end of the spectrum... but also those a few years post that...

Now if there was a 16yo girl that liked me (the age of consent in my state w/ no within so many years clause) and there was a mutual attraction - I would hop into bed with her In a heart beat! If she was 15, I would not, and seriously RESENT THE STATE! I haven't found a girl like that, and usually shop for something a bit "older...." But just saying...

FUCK THE STATE! - in personal matters, I RESENT them imposing their will in personal relationships!

In the OP case, it's same sex, and I respect peoples personal sexual preferences... This should not be an issue, so long as it's consensual. Personally, I've found that lesbo's like a bit of "dick" every once in a while, unless they are bull dykes... I'm guessing gay guys like a bit of "pussy" every once in a while too....

-t

ps: that the state is using "Why Tommy Has 2 Mommies" to encourage gay relationships in public schools makes me VOMIT!

In Spain the legal age for consensual sex is 14 (it was 13 previously). I find ridiculous that a 17 year old boy can not fuck with an 18 year old girl in the USA.

Nature has ruled out alredy on this one.
