Sunstein: Americans too racist for socialism

Defends communism, welfare state but says 'white majority' oppose programs aiding blacks, Hispanics

JERUSALEM – The U.S. should move in the direction of socialism but the country's "white majority" opposes welfare since such programs largely would benefit minorities, especially blacks and Hispanics, argued President Obama's newly confirmed regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein.

"The absence of a European-style social welfare state is certainly connected with the widespread perception among the white majority that the relevant programs would disproportionately benefit African Americans (and more recently Hispanics)," wrote Sunstein.

The Obama czar's controversial comments were made in his 2004 book "The Second Bill of Rights," which was obtained and reviewed by WND.

In the book, Sunstein openly argues for bringing socialism to the U.S. and even lends support to communism.

"During the Cold War, the debate about [social welfare] guarantees took the form of pervasive disagreement between the United States and its communist adversaries. Americans emphasized the importance of civil and political liberties, above all free speech and freedom of religion, while communist nations stressed the right to a job, health care, and a social minimum."

Everyone here should have known Sunstein is the one person who we should keep our eye on most. That's why I urge everyone to get to know people in your community. Get to know your local militia. If you don't have one, start forming one. Start educating yourselves, and start training. Remember, America was a nation of Riflemen. We can be once more.

Oh hey, who would have known Sen-McCarthy was correct....

Once again, it's not that the rest of us have a better understanding of economics. The problem is that we're all too racist to allow anyone non-white to get ahead. Give.me.a.break.and.cut.the.crap.

This Sunstein guy is a real piece of work.

What a douche. Welfare doesn't even get people out of poverty, it has only increased poverty.

The guy would have to be a full blown, white people hating, racist asshole to even say something like that.
Instead of forcing people to do what he wants by using political correctness as a weapon he may just unintentionally wake more people up.

If welfare benefits minorities so much then why are they still disproportionately poor

Could it be that welfare causes poverty in the longterm

Wefare doesn't pay very much. You can barely exist on it.

In the past, welfare recipients became dependent on welfare and felt that they were entitled to it. Those people stayed in an impoverished condition. But with welfare reform, many people have received an education and went to work. I know you will disagree, but I feel that someone who is a fifth generation welfare recipient is not the same as someone who has lost their job and their home, their savings and only collect welfare for a short period of time in desperation. So, for a fifth generation welfare collector, welfare causes poverty. But not for a hard working person that only uses it to get on his or her feet.

He sounds like quite the opposite, saying that blacks and Hispanics are too stupid to live on their own and that they need the help of white people to survive. Apparently, he's trying to bring the White Man's Burden back in style.

It's insulting anyway you look at it. Doesn't he understand how many Blacks and Hispanics might be opposed to his ideas?
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama has been groomed, aided, and financed by Socialist/Communists and they do not like all the resistance they have ran up against with the Tea Parties and the growing Patriotism in this country. So now they are reduced to name-calling and other dirty tactics to get their way.
