How the hell? Did they restrict who could vote or did this just some how go completely unnoticed by every Ron Paul supporter in the state?

You have to realize Ohio is one of the most corrupt states in the USA when it comes to voting.

They make no mention here of when this happened or the methodology.

Also are Ohio folks knowledgeable of the registration deadline FAST approaching? October 9th!

What registration deadline? You don't need to register for a party in Ohio. When you vote in their primary you automatically become registered with that party.

That is completely untrue (former Ohio poll captain here).

You had to donate money to the GOP to vote. That's BS.

Money making scheme.

I didn't even know about that poll.

Wish I would have known about the poll. Just as well, though. My donation will go to the campaign instead. :)

From the ronpaul2008 website, I saw that OH was still open as of 9/24, but when I went to vote (on the 27th I think) it was closed!

I don't think Ron Paul appeared on the ballot. On a Yahoo search for "ohio gop straw poll ron paul", I get this as entry #2:

You had to donate money to the GOP along with the fact that it was online so anyone could have voted even outside Ohio.

I am disgusted by the Ohio GOP.

He wasn't on the ballot... They tried the same crap in WA at the state fair, even going so far as to call the cops on RP supporters.

You know, that makes sense because actually, if I'm thinking of the right one, you had to donate first before you voted and you couldn't even see who was on it..

Wow, yeah I think that was it. It was on our meetup page... What slimy *@#$#$&!@#$&!@#$ lol...

Here's the saved version of the page: Ohio GOP Excludes Ron Paul from its List of Presidential Candidates (http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:ePlr6vTzC1sJ:ronpaul.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/08/ohio-gop-exclud.html+http://ronpaul.typepad.com&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox-a)

The post was back in August however, and it was referring to the Ohio GOP blog. I checked the site and there is a "Paul for President (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/)" link now available.

And I'm pretty sure that Congressman Paul's name was on the ballot. If you look at the straw poll results (http://www.ohiogop.org/News/Read.aspx?ID=1594), Ron Paul receives at least 1% of the votes.

Anyways, if that result was supposed to be a major downer, it's had the opposite effect (at least on me). Think about it. There's millions of people out there who haven't heard Ron Paul's message of liberty and peace, let alone his name! We've got lots to work on, and I'm excited! :D
