Citing obesity among school children, the Department of Education has banned bake sales as a part of their new "wellness" policy. Under the new regulations, the student selling of baked goods is prohibited until after 6:00 p.m. on school days. Parent groups, however, are permitted to sell their wares once a month, after lunch hours are over.

Clamping down on fund-raising while slashing budgets. And these people are responsible for educating our kids?!?

Why would anyone want to live in NY? Oh well, they can't complain they still live there. Stop voting in complete retards, perhaps this wouldn't happen (By DoE, I suppose you meant the Board of Education (County/Municipality/etc.).

NYC should have stuck with Tammany Hall. They didn't care about running your life, so long as there was enough graft to spread around.

I wonder if N.Y. schools have soda machines in their lunchrooms? I wonder if they have healthy food on their menus?

I'd be willing to bet that a high percentage of the obese children in New York are on public assistance.
