We've seen the power of the official campaign at raising funds. Now let's see how powerful each and every grassroots group, PAC, meetup, and individual can raise funds for the Ron Paul 2008 PCC!
Now is the right time to start planning for the fundraising blitzes that we'll need to bolster big fourth-quarter numbers for Dr. Paul. But this time, let's all do our part. The third quarter proved that this campaign can raise big numbers in a short time. Most of that is due to a strong push from the campaign committee - and that's good to see! But imagine how much could be done if we were working in concert with them - organizing fundraising drives and even events, getting our own hands into raising funds and not just prostheletizing.
There are of a course a few things to remember - my advice would be that for any fundraising event, appoint someone to handle compliance. There are certain numbers with different reporting requirements to the FEC, so when you take money from people to send to the campaign, make sure you know what information they'll need, and make sure you get it to them - otherwise, they will not be able to accept the contribution.
So what do you think? What are your ideas? $10 admission to a fun event with your meetup group? Contribution envelopes at booths you set up (such as at gun shows, etc)? The sky's the limit. Let's put up even more spectacular numbers in the fourth quarter than in the third!
