Campaign staff should come up with a big coordinated attention getter. They could disperse funds to meet up groups as needed to grab headlines across the country.

Is there any problem with this, as to campaign laws?

Honestly I like the idea of deputizing well-organized meetup groups.

But none of us REALLY know the blocking and tackling of campaign laws, and so we should just delete this thread ASAP.

The HQ guys know we're out here, if they need us they just need to send an email or pickup the phone.

You have this TOTALLY BACKWARDS--the Meetup groups need to raise funds for the official campaign!

Sounds like socialism to me.

If I want to give money to a meetup group I will give it to a meetup group. If I want to give money to the campaign I will give the money to the campaign with the expectation that they will not then hand it off to the "needy" meetup groups.

Wow!

Some of those responses were shameful. This is a forum for sharing thoughts and ideas.

Um, they were sharing thoughts and ideas.

Just because they didn't agree with *your* idea doesn't make them meany heads.

Strange. I can't find an appropriate "emo" smiley on here.

Mmmmk. But yeah, that would actually *really* be a violation of FEC regulations.

Bradley mentioned that every meetup should send money to the campaign, and that's true - so as we fire up to enter the next quarter......
