The GOP has not really been pushing their own coherent counter-proposal as a whole...

Grayson: GOP wants 'you to die'
By: Jonathan Allen
September 29, 2009 08:09 PM EST

Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., warned Americans that "Republicans want you to die quickly" during an after-hours House floor speech Tuesday night.

His remarks, which drew angry and immediate calls for an apology from Republicans, were highlighted by a sign reading "The Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly."

The GOP has not really been pushing their own coherent counter-proposal as a whole...

Tort reform, health savings accts and free market competition to buy insurance across state lines. They even held up their bill during Obama's speech to Congress. The plan is there, it's just that since it doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of passing the talking heads don't bother with it.

This is really unfortunate. Watching him go after the Fed really raised my opinion of him.

Looking to Washington DC for solutions is like poking yourself in the eye with a stick, and then complaining it hurts.

People that think democrats and republicans have any solutions to our problems live in a state of delusional fantasy.

Washington DC needs to be made into a national park / Museum .Then they need to take school kids there of field trips to teach them how a small group of greedy people can trash a nation.

So is anyone surprised he's a left-wing progressive? I thought we already knew that.

It's not so much that the republicans aren't corrupt/evil, it's that most of the problems in the medical arena wouldn't be there absent government intervention, which has been systematically increased over the years, mostly by democrats.

I am glad Jimmy Duncan took him to task. Duncan is the closest to RP in the house.

Kucinich with bigger balls and on steroids.

I think that quote says it all. Taibbi had an article up on Grayson grilling the attorney from the Fed during the H.R. 1207 hearings last Friday. It had a good anecdote of Grayson scaring the hell out of Taibbi. Grayson is the same person who proposed the "mandatory vacations" to force employers to give everybody additional vacations, so he has his share of bad ideas. But I wish Ron Paul would take up his way of rapid-fire questioning.

RP has been there, done that, and realized that whatever questions he asks, he'll never get a straight answer from these clowns, so his time is better spent lecturing.

I'm really surprised that he's a client of Peter Schiff and Peter gave him the maximum $2,300 donation.

Why is he accused of being a 'dishonest hack?" He's just being who he is. Most people i know have both strengths and weaknesses. But it seems if you manifest weaknesses in Americay, you risk demonization!

He's right that the republicans are dragging their feet. He's wrong that the democrats are acting on behalf of the people.

He's only been there 8 months, once he hangs out with Dr. Paul some more he'll get some more common sense.

I suppose Peter takes the good with the bad or just knows him personally but you know he would never support his liberal positions or partisan attacks
