One of the people commenting on this video states:

Whoa, whoa, whoa …
Before we go viral with this, are we sure they aren’t saying “Deliver us, O God”, but in poor unison, and with an echo? I’ve listened a couple of times, and I’m not quite convinced they are saying “Obama”. Is anybody else wondering the same thing?”

Listening with my eyes closed. I’m not sure now either. When it imagine they are saying Obama, it sounds like Obama. When I imagine they are saying God, it sound like God.

I'm not convinced they are saying "Obama" myself, and I think we need further verification before going overboard on this. (Not that it's not wrongheaded either way.)

Politics & Religon = mob mentallity

if ever there is an arguement for separation of church from state.

This is why i always emphasize how important it is to separate the concept of individual human rights from all religion, including Christianity. It is of course, a "hot topic" here. Lots of heated disagreements, on this subject.

Faith without reason is simply a dangerous concept. Faith in religion and faith in government have a lot more in common than a lot of us realize, in my opinion.

"separate individual right from all religion". Those are your words. Yet the Bill of Rights specifically declares an individual's right to freely express their religion.

There is a difference between praying FOR someone and praying TO someone.

Pray FOR whomever you choose, TO whomever you choose.

I'm personally not comfortable with people praying TO the prez. But that's just me...

That right stems from the individuals right to life. The individuals right to life does not stem from your choice of religion or non-religion, is the point i'm trying to make. It's the same as your right to free speech. The flappy piece of meat in your mouth, gives you that right. You can argue that some sort of supernatural being is responsible for that flappy piece of meat and your ability to manipulate it, but the right ultimately stems from your right to life, like all rights.

Your ability to reason gives you freedom of "religion" or in otherwords "you are free to speculate about your existence, and the purpose of it, so long as you don't violate the rights of others to enforce your views/discoveries."

That's how i see it, anyways. It's the concept of individual human rights that's important, not any particular religion.

I'm pretty sure they're saying "O God", just not all at the same time and not clearly.

And all the douche-bags in the comments section complaining about the anti-christ are annoying. In fact, I get really irritated when Christians warn us about the anti-christ. The sooner he shows up, the sooner they can get rapturized, then comes the tribulation, then Jesus comes back and everything is dandy.

Simple logic then dictates that Christians should should support and actively promote the anti-christ in order to help implement up God's plan. If you fight against the anti-christ, you are trying to hinder God's plan.

Then what did you mean by "separate individual right from all religion". It sounds to me like you want to closet the religious. Kind of like we did to the gays....do what you want just not in front of me...kind of thinking.

Oh, perhaps i didn't word it very good. I don't want to closet the religious at all, most of my family is religious, and some of my friends, as well. I appreciate that they are good people, for the most part (there's always bad apples :p)

By separate individual rights from religion, What i mean is, the concept of individual rights is independent from religion. I don't think it's a valid concept to believe that individual rights stem from Christianity, or any other religion or deity, because many individuals will not accept this concept, including myself, but we're still moral individuals.

Clay, your edit cleared it up.

oh, i think it might be 'oh god'

So do I, actually. Listen to the video without looking at the text.

However, that doesn't mean people shouldn't be paying attention to the Gamaliel Foundation.

Barack and Michelle Obama have been involved with it for a VERY long time; before he was involved in politics even. The Foundation proudly states it views religion through the filter of Saul Alinsky ideology, and is obviously pushing out information with a strong socialist/communitarian bias (stating they "claim the value of a sacred community over isolating individualism").

This is NOT separation of church and state by ANY means, and is selling an ideology that runs contrary to constitutional values.

The Foundation states universal housing and universal healthcare are rights, and in particular states "current immigration policies leave millions of workers in the shadows, vulnerable to abuse because they lack legal documentation, and unable to fully participate in a country they have helped to build." I don't know, perhaps they "lack legal documentation" because they are BREAKING THE LAW?

George Soros also provides a lot of funding for this group. That fact alone rings huge alarm bells for me.

What's icky about what I said?

Not what you said...I used a play on words regarding praying for a political figure beit whomever. The ick factor in that is what is beyond belief. Get it, beyond belief in who they are praying for and has become brainwashing. I suppose people prayed for all the worlds leaders (hitler, ghandi, dali llama,stalin,bush,obama,etc...)at one time or another. Frankly, it's disturbing (to me) and generally leads the masses down the road to destruction in the form of war.

Whatever floats thier boat pray for who or what you like I personnally find it at odds when it comes to political figures but that's just me. Seems they would have better choices than someone you elect and is limited to two terms. Then do they move on to someone else to pray for? (shrug). But hey I'm just me.

:)
