"... when these reports come out, they're reviewed by the press, pundits, both political parties and our opponents, who will judge the strength of our campaign based in part on our fundraising success." --- Trey Grayson

KY Secretary of State Trey Grayson's U.S. Senate campaign has been very quiet since Fancy Farm in August, with only a bus tour of the Commonwealth and an occassional statement. Meanwhile, upstart GOP primary contender Rand Paul's campaign has been guerilla-like, grabbing the spotlight, cash and framing the issues in the race at every opportunity.

One week after a fundraiser hosted by 23 Republican senators in Washington, D.C., Grayson is making an appeal to his base that frames him as a "common sense conservative," credits fading Senator Jim Bunning and appeals for enough cash to make a splash with the media upon the Federal Election Commission's filing deadline on Wednesday for third quarter fundraising results.

So the filing is today/tomorrow, but when will we get the results and find out how much was raised at the fund raiser Grayson had?

if he is doing well, he will try to send in his report immediately. if he isn't doing so well, he will send in his report as late as he can.

Since we don't know by now, we probably never will. The only info we'll have is what's in the report, which, IIRC does not include dates donations were given. We'll see who gave individual donations of $200.01 or more in the quarter. So if we want we can look through at who all gave $500 or more, since that was the minimum donation for the fund raiser, and probably exclude any large donations that came from within KY, then what's left (donations > $500 from outside KY) will be a set that includes the dinner plus other donations. We won't know what was from the dinner specifically, but we will know an amount that it must be less than.
