Not a very interesting or intelligent thread.

Two or three people said they liked a lot of Paul's ideas (such as ending the Fed) but they don't think they are realistic.

Okay...... So...... ??? We should stick with the status quo just because it is so realistic?

It's a heavily moderated thread... Lots of the posts have disappeared.

Does anyone know if/how can you watch it live streaming from the web?

some of the brilliance there:

"every year education budgets around the country get slashed. For decades"

Factually incorrect. Plus, why would someone want to devote more money to a failing enterprise - one that destroys wealth and destroys kids? It's a money sink.

It is usually posted soon after on comedy central's website, slightly later on hulu. For me it shows up at least by 1 or 2AM.

new episode is at 11pm, repeats are throughout the next day, so the one at 8 is last night's. Has some funny stuff about the g20 protests though, you should check it out.

The Daily Show is NOTORIOUS for removing Tubes shortly after they air. I'll try and capture one and transfer it onto my site for subbing purposes later (under the Fair Use clause).

First review from a Daily Pauler...

"Just got back!
On September 29th, 2009 Ablom says:

It was actually a really good interview and the couple next to me seemed to really change their attitude toward him by the end of it. I also met him this morning at the book signing at Borders. Pretty good day overall."

I thought it was a decent interview to many jokes cracked Ron didn't really get enough time to answer Jon's questions wish he would have had ron on longer but good exposure for the book I just received End The Fed in the mail today :)

It was a fairly vanilla interview. It's hard to get any type of a solid message out in such a short segment.

Jon Stewart actually read the book ---- that was a terrific interview!!

Half the folks think he did great. The other half think he is a lunatic. I thought he could have done better, especially with the corporationism answer. He gave a much better answer with Arianna Huffington, but had significantly less time here.

I didn't get quite the same impression. Jon definitely respects Ron, but seems reluctant to throw his full endorsement behind someone with whom he seems to have fundamental philosophical differences with. The endorsement wasn't particularly strong, and didn't include some of the stronger language Jon has used to endorse other books.

Good interview overall.

Jon Stewart pressed him on "corporate tyranny" but that doesn't make sense because non-governmental entities don't possess the legal right to initiate force. In the absence of government handouts, they actually have to satisfy the consumer to make money, which Ron Paul pointed out.

Oh yeah, earlier in the program, John Stewart defended the minnow in California that is costing tens of thousands of jobs. Asshole.

He defended the government money that was used to build the water irrigation system back in the 30's(?). What he fails to mention is how they got the $500 million dollars to build it--through theft. He supports government spending the money they steal from the people, so long as it is spent on "the little guys," not on giant corporations. He really believes that the government he ridicules every night for wasting money & being so damn unproductive actually knows how to spend our own money better than we do when it comes to social programs. This is how a lot of people think, unfortunately.

It will be up on The Daily SHow site though. I would think that Fair Use would absolutely apply to sub-titled work, especially if you just stripped the audio out yourself.

Some other news shows (Hannity, O'Reilly etc..) no matter how good an interview he does, the people that watch that show aren't the kinds that would support RP.

Would be interested in watching this. I think a lot of Stewart's demographic would be interested in RP and his ideas.

I was kind of disappointed with the interview actually. I wish he would've talked for a minute about how setting interest rates too low causes bubbles and malinvestment. It's a pretty simple concept that can be explained very quickly. Ron Paul knows a lot but he has to work on explaining it better to the common people who haven't connected all the dots yet.

I thought he did a pretty good job of explaining. He pointed out how big government uses the Fed to finance everything that they need. I think that was the most important point that he needed to make.

If you dont understand why he wants to get rid of the Fed then everything else is pointless.
