I'm dating a liberal (I know, hold the jeers, I think I can get through to her with the right method) and she is kind of close minded in discussions but I think if I could show her a clip that includes strong antiwar rhetoric and approval by some leftists, ie. Maher and Stewart it just might open up the discussion. Thanks in advance.

Show her a Kokesh video, thats probably better than a Ron Paul one, well except for when he is screaming about revolting against the government lol. I just meant the anti-war stuff.

I would get on mises.org too and find some good articles to show her.

Get her to watch freedom to fascism too, and why we fight. I imagine those documentaries would help her thinking.

I will look around for a video and keep this in mind if I see one.

As my handle is a tribute too, I was awoken as far as foreign policy by Chomsky which I have tried to use as a bridge, saying my solutions now are different than Chomsky's but the diagnosis is the same.
Also she is very pragmatic so I'm thinking the we can't afford government takeover of healthcare might be a great approach.

This one was one that I watched a lot when I switched from an Obama supporter to a Ron Paul supporter.

I'm sure there's something else out there, though.

This was always my favorite Ron Paul youtube video, I'm not sure if its the best for what you're looking for though.

YouTube - Ron Paul : When in the course of human events... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFfdB5OzlyQ)

Here's another one that you might be able to use:

YouTube - Ron Paul : Don't tread on me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG_HuFtP8w8)

Hope that helps you out, and if you get mad because she still won't listen or gets mad about the facts not fitting her worldview then you could always show her one of these lol:

This is maybe a little too much of an "ad" for Ron Paul 2012, but i've found it gets a pretty decent response from honest liberals.

Thanks for posting that video, I didn't know about it or the site! I just pledged $500 on it. If Paul runs again I know I can come up with at least that much somehow from selling some stuff or whatever.

Love the Don't Tread On Me video. That and The South Carolina debates were my primary tool in converting people.

Yeah the Don't Tread On Me video was really popular but I always liked the When In the Course of Human Events one better. I love the part with the people chanting Freedom after the guy they're following says Ron Paul. I think people should have chanted freedom ron paul like everywhere he went lol. I mean he did make himself synonymous with freedom lol.

I'm not sure it can simply be accomplished by pushing Ron Paul... the conversion is often more ideological, and one must understand fundamental economic concepts and the principles and logic of human interaction to grasp why in a more voluntary arrangement, people's freedom to act in their own self-interest is a boon not only to themselves, but to others. As a system, freedom allows the exponential increase in wealth and self-determination, and one's relationships, interactions, and value preferences are founded not in norms developed from artificial institutions, but arise from one's own volition in concert with other's own unadulterated volition. The resulting system, at any given time, churns toward an elusive but magnetic, organic, and social equilibrium as physical reality - the tangible and visible set of actions - is the manifestation of the process of optimization of the set of states - the array of knowledge, beliefs, and value preferences of the populace - of the individuals in the system .

These are some articles written by former leftists that detail their conversion:

John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods

Karl Hess, former Goldwater speechwriter and 60s leftist activist
http://fare.tunes.org/books/Hess/dop.html

Janet Daley, on realizing that leftist practices actually crush self-determination, and reinforce social stratification.

And these are good essays:

Garrison: Equality: The Unknown Ideal
