I agree, and yet most of history is the story of elites getting the common man to fight for wars that are not in the common man's interest. So, they're pretty good at it fooling people, 'cause they are highly educated and know history.

However, they always had control of the main institutions from which people received their information. Now, there's broadband internet. The people, everywhere, can share ideas and talk to each other and compare situations.
