The parallels between the American establishment's behavior in 2007 are strikingly similar to the behavior of the Soviet establishment circa 1988.

The grip tightens just before it's forced to let go.

They can remove his name from their polls, but that doesn't magically make his real world supporters dissapear, nor will it make their real votes in the pirmaries, dissapear.

Be thinking about how you can get Ron Paul more RP signs everywhere and wearing his T-Shirts as much as possible. When the lay public sees all of his support everywhere, they are going to wonder what is up with these bogus polls. Maybe that will help to wake them up and get asking questions.

RP gets kept out of the media. His name is being removed from online polls. The top tier candidates won't debate with him, and yet people still don't believe in conspiracies.

The more they tighten their grip, the more things slip through their fingers:p

Doesn't your grip get really tight when you die? Interesting metaphor, methinks.

Ehh? this needs some re-writing :)

Ironically, on September 30, 2007, Free Republic actually a presidential poll on their own site by removing the winning choice from the selection. GOP candidate Ron Paul was leading the Poll, but without explanation, he was removed from it. While candidates, such as Rep. Tancredo and Gov. Huckabee, were left on the poll despite having less support and financing than Paul. This controversial episode has brought the questionable ethics of this site to the forefront of many discussion forums

Edit: nevermind i wasn't the only one to see it and it is fixed now

This really isn't surprising. Jim Robinson (the owner of the Free Republic forum) has already registered FredRepublic.com (and I'm not linking to it because I don't want to give him the satisfaction of any hits from here  ). He, along with the vast majority of members there, are Fred supporters because they see him as an extension of the status quo as regards the war in the middle east.

There are a few of us Ron Paul supporters there, most of which have been posting there for YEARS even though with every post we make supportative of Dr. Paul, we risk getting banned from the site. As I pointed out a couple of weeks ago, however, getting banned is NOTHING to risk when you figure what Dr. Paul :D is risking just by running his campaign.....damn the torpedoes...full speed ahead!!

I was just banned for life by the "staff" of a firearms forum I have belonged to for years ( www.1911forum.com ) as a reasonable poster on IDPA and IPSC cmpetition with 1911's because in a Fred Thomspon thread that one of the moderators started in the "political" section I just posted Thomspon's actual senate voting record, which is only 43% pro-gun.

Glad to be banned if that is the attitude of the forum owners - I don't want to be a part of it anymore with that un-American, anti-freedom stance on an actual gun website which purports to promote the Bill of Rights along with the 1911 pistol.

What it shows is the fear the neo-cons have, and I think the Fred Thompson campaign has directed supporters (or it is just plain fear by Fred supporters) to eliminate RP's message wherever possible as Thompson plans to mimmick it on all aspects except the war and foreign policy.

I don't think anybody has brought this up yet but Rudy Giuliani and John McCain are both missing from this poll too.

The poll isn't just against Ron Paul, it's specifically set up to make Fred Thompson look more popular than he really is, even compaired to the other "top tier" candidates.

You can tell Free Republic is kinda freaking out about Ron Paul's popularity.
