THERE IS A CHALLENGER.

Ron Paul supporter, and successful businessman Jon Del Arroz, is currently in second in fundraising, and number 1 among the Republican challengers for the seat. The 11th Congressional District, which resides in central California (San Joaquin Valley, Bay area) is currently occupied by Democratic Representative Jerry McNerney.

McNerney is only in his second term, and neither election had him winning big,

2004: lost, 39% of vote
2006: won, 53.3%
2008: won, 55%

But now the tides are changing. And I wanted to bring to your attention this battlefront.

If the entire liberty movement can get behind Kokesh, I think you should at least check out Del Arroz. Especially if you live in California.

So far, he has raised $308,920.

McNerney has raised $564,815.

His website: http://www.delarroz.com/

The article where I just found out about him (I feel bad because this is my district): http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27497.html

The site I got the fundraising info from: http://www.opensecrets.org/races/election.php?state=CA

Jerry McNerney is a typical big gov liberal, voted for the bailouts, supports Obama on everything, and is one of the few holdout extremists in congress who won't support HR-1207. I actually tried to get him to. He responded but seemed to celebrate the Fed. "The Federal Reserve has played a significant role in our national response to the recession" - Jerry McNerney, email, June 9 2009.

He better expand his issues page or he won't get much support from here.

Earmark reform is key to getting spending under control.

wrong answer.

Cutting out federal programs is the key.

He is good on one issue and one debatable issue. No Foreign Policy? No Health Care? Energy? TM is right.

Aside from how he is on issues, is he going to win the election? Doesn't California usually go to democrats?

I think it looks like if we win the primary we could very easily win the general election there. This district voted republican.... until Bush. That says a lot in my opinion. I think they would go for a Ron Paul republican.:D

I think we should support this person.

Edit: I mean if he turns out to be good on issues of course.

I was actually thinking the same thing, I will suggest he expand his issues page.

I'll update if there's a change.

Thanks for alerting us to this guy. The fact that he was a Ron Paul supporter says a lot in my eyes. It's encouraging to learn of more Ron Paul Republicans out there running besides the ones that get mentioned here the most.

Unfortunately, Mr. Arroz had to drop out. Worse is the reason: I think it is that his child has cystic fibrosis.
