What is Saakashvili up to? He seems intent on provoking a new crisis to force NATO to stand with him and bring the United States in on his side – against Russia. Ultimate goal: Return the issue of his lost provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia back onto the world’s front burner.

While such a crisis may be in the interests of Saakashvili and his Russophobic U.S neoconservative retainers, it is the furthest thing from U.S. national interests. President Obama should have Joe Biden, Saakashvili’s pal, phone him up and instruct him thus:

I don't mind weapons and munitions of war being supplied to those who want to fight for their freedom. I draw the line at sending our citizens to war when not in the interest of the United States.

If it is not important enough for Concress to declare war, it is not important enough to send in the Department of Defense to manage it.

Russia made a big mistake when they stopped their counteroffensive. They should have marched to the Georgian capital and hung that murderous puppet Sakashvilli from a lampost.

The dirty bastard murdered 2000 Russian citizens. Russia's invasion was 100% justified.

Russia's invasion was 100% justified.

In order to prevent a pipeline from being built that would threaten the current monopoly the Gazprom has on supplying natural gas to western Europe.
