FCC chairman proposes `open Internet' rules

NEW YORK -

The FCC chairman says wireless carriers shouldn't be allowed to block certain types of Internet traffic flowing over their networks.

In a speech to be delivered Monday, Julius Genachowski, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, says wireless carriers should be subject to the same "open Internet" rules that the agency has begun to apply to home broadband providers.

Translated:

FCC admits their interference with the free market via expensive exclusive licenses prevents new competition entering the wireless market because it's too expensive.

Therefore, the FCC has determined it must interfere with private property rights to further regulate the monopolies it creates to serve public interests.

This will of course require more money from the American tax payers for the FCC to regulate problems the FCC created. But that is of course how gullible the American public is and they will line up to pay government more money for P2P.
