On Friday, September 25th the House Financial Services Committee has scheduled a full committee hearing on Ron Paul’s HR.1207 to audit the Federal Reserve.

The hearing is slated to begin at 9am eastern time. For details and a link to the (eventual) live streaming video of the hearing check out the committee website (http://www.house.gov/apps/list/hearing/financialsvcs_dem/fchr_092509.shtml).
As with many of these committee hearings the schedule is tentative and right now there are no witnesses listed.

By now we know what the opponents of the bill will argue, but it doesn’t change the fact that the bill has over 290 bipartisan cosponsors and 75% of the American people want a Fed audit.

The conditions are ripe for passing some form of Federal Reserve audit. Rahm Emanuel has been criticized for not wanting to allow our economic “crisis to go to waste”. In turn, Obama has largely been capitalizing on his honeymoon in popularity coupled with the economic crisis to push his agenda through Congress. The health care debate has stifled that strategy for now.

Without the economic crisis I doubt Ron Paul’s Fed audit bill would have more than 290 cosponsors. So, in a way, Ron Paul is not letting this crisis go to waste either. It is a perfect bill for the America we live in today.

It is Ron Paul’s job to convince others that his bill would not allow Congress to interfere with monetary policy. This is the lone argument against his bill and it’s quite a weak argument.

Friday’s hearings mark a major battle in the long term effort to “End the Fed (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0446549193?ie=UTF8&tag=escapineffblo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0446549193)“.

Considering that it is tax dollars that are being spent, we do have the right to audit the Fed, just as the IRS has the right to audit us, as to where dollars are being spent.

This very issue right here could spring Paul to the mainstream.

I think they (The Fed) will use this bill to make RP look bad. They will raise interest rates and say that RP pushing for this audit caused interest rates to rise and the dollar to fall. And of course all the sheep will believe it.

Good point is that Crocker wants an audit. Bad point is that he does not want Senators and Congress to be involved in monetary policy. WTF why do we elect them anyway? Are they not suppose to be involved with how they are appropriating and spending our money? An audit is the least they could do, abolish The FED!

Why would the dollar weaken if the interest rate went up?

See the following explanation of Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker's viewpoint:

I wish they would try to make RP look bad. I wish they would raise interest rates and blame it on Ron Paul. "The sheep" as you put it aren't the same "sheep" from 2 years ago when these ideas started hitting the mainstream.

This movement and Ron Paul's message is having a broad impact in this country. The fed trying to defend itself by continuing to act stupid and blaming Ron Paul and continue fucking with rates will give even more evidence to convert even more "sheep". People will recognize the retaliation effect because anything the Fed touched turns to shit.

Really, don't worry about "the sheep" because you are on a board full of shepherds who are very keen and very aware of the retaliation effects of the wolves.

I want the wolves to thrash about uncontrollably making their actions where everyone can see them instead of behind closed doors. The ONLY weapon the wolves have is secrecy.

Just don't worry, the flock is being tended to just fine as long as you and I and the rest of us understand the enemy, and we do.
