Yeah, big time. I'm going with Huckabee as the worst prez pick for 2012, just because.

They should let us choose rankings instead of a single pick.

But Huck is being seen as the major threat right now and the article kind of focuses on him winning the recent "Values" voter thing. Either way, I don't like the posturing that I see outta them trying to gear up for the next race.

AOL Time Warner rigged these polls last year. For every vote we gave Ron Paul their computer system would give 100's of votes elsewhere.

Why is Ron Paul second in the worst choice for 2012?

Maybe this is proof he needs to run as an independent.

Because the neocons are still out there in droves.

That wouldn't surprise me a bit if true. I still think there was a lot of undocumented "funny stuff" that went on within the mainstream media in regard to the Ron Paul candidacy. RP was the one guy they really seemed to fear, and news outlets across the board, from Fox to CNN to the national networks all worked overtime to discredit him and make his supporters look like fringe kooks.

Yeah, I don't see how it is possible that people don't love Ron Paul, given that he PREDICTED the whole crisis during the primary debates. If he had won the primary, he might have actually been able to beat Obama with his knowledge of economics.

Except that he's wacko and his supporters are right-wing extremists.

Yes. Fox News has been doing wonders for us, especially Glenn Beck.

As for predicting. He's predicting much more, but of course everyone is disagreeing with him and saying the recession is over. People only love someone who's predicted something once the prediction has come true.

And sadly, I'm not trying to be defeatist, but he wouldn't have beaten Obama. The American voters don't give a shit about economics or anything else really, they just vote on who gives the best waves and has the best smile. It's all a populist game.

Neocons are against RP because he denounced the Iraq invasion and he wants to bring all the troops home. That's pretty much what it amounts to.

I think they could get over some of the other stuff, but denouncing the Iraq invasion messes with their minds. That means a lot of innocent people died for nothing and Bush could be prosecuted.
They won't have that.

Maybe Libertarians should keep quiet about the past until they or if they ever end up in power. The tide is turning in favor of limited government, lower taxes and reducing a global empire. We should take advantage of that and ride that wave. Otherwise the Neocons will pull at heart strings of the ignorant and scream we are unpatriotic or isolationists.

The Neocons need to be handled delicately otherwise we lose them as well as the sheeple that follow them, that just do not know any better, that we need. (i.e. typical FNC Hannity viewer, Bush Republicans). When it comes to foreign policy Libertarians should focus on that our foreign policy is bankrupting the nation as as well as the tax increases that would be necessary to maintain a troops overseas. (intentionally avoided the global empire term)

Dude thats freakin genious! Did Paul ever say he opposed the war because we would need future taxes to pay for it? Because I only remember him saying how we can't afford it, which sounds weak because people think of the government as an infinite money machine, and that the war is illegal, and people could care less about that.

Freakin' Huckabee.

He has a new syndicated political news snippet that plays on the local right-wing radio station here. It's called the Huckabee Report or something and it plays during news breaks. They're definitely setting him up for a run.

I have not heard the Huckabee report. Does it stay away from politics and more human interest-country culture like his FNC show?

I thought MSNBC/NBC was over the top promoting John McCain since the 90s. As much as I hate MSNBC/NBC at least they did not give McCain his own show. I would not care that Huckabee has his own country variety show if he was not going to be a 2012 candidate.

Oh my GOOD LORD, as a lifelong republician , now a recovering republician. This poll scares me as much as Obama. Where was NONE OF THE ABOVE OR ALL UNDER THE WORST CATAGORY. We will have to wait and see how the GOP structures the primaries to see who they have set up to win and loose and the counter attack.

You can't blame people for making the better of two choices when they are forced to choose.

Economics is the ONLY thing voters care about. People knew instinctively that Bush caused this mess, and Obama won because of that. If Paul had made it to the regular election, he would have had an easy time distancing himself from Bush, and could have made it based on backlash aimed at both D and R's. Remember the Dems were in control of both houses of the Senate at the time, and had shown themselves to be weak-willed.

It was definitely political. Talking about healthcare and basically reiterating the GOP platform in his friendly, country-reverend style. It wasn't very long--maybe a minute.

"Because he's an ultra-liberal! He hasn't done anything for this country! What has he ever done?! I fought in Vietnam for this country! ... Ron Paul might be a veteran but he's using that to his advantage!"

I had a guy scream that to me as soon as I mentioned Paul one time back when I went door to door one day lol. He was a braindead Hannitized old guy lol. Someone else with me was across the street and further down the street than me but the guy yelled at me so loud he overheard it lol.

I think that old guy heard someone on Fox say Paul ran for president as the Libertarian candidate and assumed that meant liberal not liberty, seriously lol.

I know he got the idea of liberal because Hannity and other neo-con talking figures call being anti-war liberal and being pro-war conservative even though pro-war is not conservative, but I think the whole ultra-liberal idea was in his head because of the libertarian title.
