It looks like a hacker "may" have attacked the Ron Paul homepage and Ron Paul Forums. Of course don't know for sure, but just in case they did hack lets send them a message that they are NOT going to stop us and are not even going to slow us down.

Lets send this message by DONATING LIKE CRAZY LUNATICS when the Ron Paul website is back online and accepting donations!

By zooming past $1,000,000 dollars tonight we can tell those hackers to buzz off to some other nation, because we sure don't want them here!

Who here will pledge to donate to the Ron Paul campaign as soon as their website is accepting donations?

It's just a denial of service since we are overstressing the servers.

Exactly. Not everything is a conspiracy.

We don't know that and we can't take that chance!

If there is even a chance this was an attack we must respond back by donating like crazy to the Ron Paul campaign!

Lets not give whoever is responsible a moment to relax!

Most hackers probably support Ron Paul. He's the only true defender of the internet. That tyrant McCain wanted to ban political criticism on blogs.

I think people just got super excited all over the internet and are refreshing to see that final 1mil.

I wouldn't trust a URL with an IP address. Careful, folks...

It's not a hacker, it's all of us donating and watching!

I'm sure serving that big thermometer widget puts a real strain on the server.

SouthernGuy15

It might not have been an attack.

But do you really think the other candidates are incapable of paying some neo-con or socialist school kid a few hundred bucks to perform an attack on Ron Paul's site?

We need to respond back and do so boldly.

If nothing else, we will help support Ron Paul!

Yeah, it looks like a Google Cache of the page, but still I don't think it is HTTPS secure so just wait and donate as soon as he real site is back up!

Ehh, to most hackers it really doesn't matter. Sure internet regulations might screw with the newbs and script kiddies, but the essence of hacking means finding ways around these barriers. The internet will never be regulated no matter how hard a government tries.

Plus I don't see a black-hat having any problem taking down the site for some $$$.

I seriously doubt this was an attack. My websites have been attacked before and they first go slow, then totally crash. If you check the main site you can still ping it, meaning the server is still working. If they were being hit by a massive DDOS you would be at least be getting heavy packet loss.

They actually fixed the time stamp issue and that was why the site was down. RPF crashed due to the influx of people coming when the main site went down.

Stop giving hackers a bad name. Someone who does a denial of service (DOS) attack is not a hacker. Hackers are generally good people with very strong ethics. I would know because I would call myself a hacker.

It's definitely a hacker! Don't you see what's happening here? They're attacking us because they hate our freedoms! Why did Osama bin Laden put those planes into the WTC? Because he hated freedom! Why did the hackers bring down this site and Ron Paul's site? Because they hated freedom! They saw that we were going to reach our goal so they did the only thing they could to stop us, use force! Tomorrow's headline in the Wall Street Journal will read: "Ron Paul weak on national defense, hackers penetrate website security." And in the NYT: "Congressman Ron Paul can't even protect his own website from terrorists, how will he protect the U.S.A.?" It's all part of a conspiracy to bring us down. So let's keep donating and show them what we're made of!

I call good hackers security experts.

Saying somebody is a "hacker" is like calling someone a "driver". In and of itself the term is very non-descriptive.
