I sent an email through her .gov website probably 2 months ago. I got a canned response back then. For whatever reason, her office felt the need to send this out today. I am looking for the original response.

Dear John,

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me.

As you may know the legislation was introduced by Representative Ron Paul February 26th, 2009 where it was referred to the House Committee on Financial Services.

As this bill moves out of the House Financial Services Committee and onto the House Floor for a vote, I will certainly keep your views in mind. Thank you again for contacting me. Please continue to keep me advised of your priorities, so I may represent you best on federal matters.

Sincerely,
Kathy Castor
Member of Congress

Here is the original canned response.

Ask her why she won't co-sponsor it. Tell the staffer you want an answer to THAT question specifically.

You do know that these letters are all written by Congressional aids, and a majority of the letters are just simply formatted with your name and standardized for everyone, right? I've worked in a political office, before. Your Congresswoman did not actually write you.

yeah

For whatever reason, her office felt the need to send this out today.
I guess the point is, this was an unsolicited response that mentioned the actual Bill by name and sponsor, whereas the original "canned" response did not. I am waiting for the opportunity to speak to her directly.

Her main planks have been health and education reform here in Hillsborough County, FL. She is on the outside looking in as far as this district is concerned. She has no idea what is important to this community.

Tampa in particular where I live is at the top of the list along with Miami for commercial defaults coming down the pipe. Our unemployment rate is pushing 12% and the employed jobs are highly service industry type jobs low wage etc, our economy is really starting to crash harder here lately. We produce nothing here. We are fraught with immigrant workers in the fruit fields, many of them illegal and leaching off our government services. Law enforcement consistently ranks as the worst in the country. She is worried about the wrong stuff.
