No he's not there, but there was a straw poll today.

The Values Voter Summit will hold a straw poll that includes former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Texas Representative Ron Paul, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Indiana Representative Mike Pence, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum."

Huckabee and Romney will talk there. So will Pence and Pawlenty. Palin won't. Huckabee or Palin should win the straw poll.

Results Saturday...

Didn't they host that debate in primary season where none of the frontrunners showed up and their podiums were empty during the event? Huckabee largely won that straw poll with Paul in 2nd IIRC.

Yeah, that's when they asked yes or no questions and the candidates had a green or red light pop up. RP was the only one opposed to having the federal gov't regulate porn in hotel rooms among other principled stands on the Constitution.

"To no surprise, abortion registered as the No. 1 issue among voters here with 243 votes cast out of 597, followed by protection of religious liberty with 108 votes, and same-sex marriage with 44 votes."

Really? Do these people not leave church and go to work? Do they not have mortgages, investments, or bank accounts?

At their last debate, they spent more time talking about beastiality and porn movies in hotel rooms than they did economic policy, foreign policy, or civil liberties.

To me, coming in last at this event is something to be proud of.

Star Parker was on C-SPAN this morning. She is with this group. I enjoy many of her columns and on C-SPAN, she was using rhetoric such as the proper role of government, limited government and the Constitution. I was trying to get in a call, because I sincerely wanted to ask her why the Values Voters didn't seem to worry about all the forementioned when it came to the values they were trying to push.

This kind of thing is so frustrating to me. :( Because I do believe people like her are with us 90% of the way.

Well, you can always try to e-mail her at http://www.urbancure.org/trtl.asp?action=add&sp=1 or by using the address linked at the bottom of http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=110232 where it says "EMAIL STAR PARKER." As a Christian conservative, I have a personal desire to see the Church awaken to what's going on in our country and in our world. Sadly, many Christians don't understand that law cannot make someone live a moral life; only the Holy Spirit can do that. Law is meant to restrain evil; it cannot change the heart. It's also tragic that many Christian conservatives (or, so-called conservatives) have no problem violating constitutional jurisdiction and using the federal government to deal with things that are lawfully intended for the states.

CPAC 2010 is "the next big thing" - I think CFL is trying to bring like 300 activists/volunteers there.

We'll see if Ron Paul can improve upon his 13% there.

I'll probably do that. Thanks. :)
