Everyone that was there today knows there was well over 250 people maybe closer to 2500 people! I was at the straw poll that was held there and there was about 200 people there then. There was at least 10 times that number there today.

People have pictures of the crowd and I am sure they have/will post them.

Well post the pictures here, we can't do anything without them. Otherwise this is speculation ...

They really should allow readers to post comments at the end of the online article.

This is not speculation I was there :)

I think they pulled the story. I have no good pics of the crowd. Here is one from Lew

As mentioned in another thread, the Globe will only allow you to view the article four or five times before they block you and want you to pay.

EDIT - Pics have shown up while I was typing this, thanks, would be good to see more, I'm going to try and estimate from that one pic for now. Was that a good shot of the whole crowd or were there more off to the sides and possibly behind the camera?

I'd love to see pics myself, this brings up a very good point.

While attending big events it is everyone's duty to get pics, movies trying to show the whole crowd if possible. Pics that could be head counted to a reasonable degree of accuracy. The press should never report 250 if it were really 2500, that would be an error of gross magnitude.

Let's see some pics. I'm going to request the author of the article (cc'ing the editor) publish a correction in SUNDAY mornings paper with attached pic. It is imperative to be as nice as you can force yourself to be while writing to him.

Is there a higher res version of this picture available? There is a LOT more than 250 people there but it's hard to get a good count with this low res.

You might be able to contact the guy that posted the photo at LRB and see if he has a high res

I was there and I literally did a rough count just by chunking up the crowd into groups of about 50. I felt there were 800-1000 people there. EASILY. Unfortunately my camera was out of batteries!!!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!!

Anyway, we can hopefully get them to change the number ONLINE and then for the print paper article TOMORROW! HELP! What do we do? I am going to call the NH campaign manager for one, to see if he has photos or can call the paper.

Bumping to encourage people to contact the Boston Globe so that they can correct their mistake before this article goes to print (if it hasn't already)

(link them to this thread if need be)

Time's a wasting!
