Immigration Reform.

If the libertarian hysterics about parasites living off the backs of "real" workers are at a fever pitch now, how much more so will they be during the fight over unions that the Employee Free Choice Act will provide?

If the crazed anti-science, anti-UN, anti-all-things-global wing of the pink elephant parade is this far gone over rescission, what happens when we really get going on a debate over dreaded Global Warming?

If the threat of corporate dollars and the astroturfing of big-money corporate organizations are this petrifyingly effective when it comes to Blue Cross/Blue Shield, how much more chilling will it be when the targets are Goldman Sachs and Bank of America?

And my mind can barely ponder the perfect storm of racist xenophobia that will erupt screaming from under the venting surface of the GOP base as we approach the subject of immigration reform.

...what amazingly intellectually dishonest tripe. If they only allowed the states to decide matters for themselves instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all plan on absolutely everyone, they would hardly even have any issues with us. It's their overwhelming need to control and rule over everyone and everything from the top that meets with such resistance.

The drum beats of war are being turned up everywhere we look.... Racial division, creationists versus darwinists, liberals versus conservative... the list goes on and on and on.

But who are the people that beat these drums of war? Who are these mouthpieces and who are they speaking for? It is these mouthpieces and their funders who are our real enemy. It is not brother versus brother, it is brother versus elite and their paid stooges.

All the stooges are giving themselves away now. They are in mainstream media, they are in leftwing blogs, they are on patriot radio.... but those who drum the beats of hate and division are our enemy, do not listen to them.

What is the Employee Free Choice Act?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Employee_Free_Choice_Act

The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) (H.R. 1409, S. 560) is a bill presently being considered in the United States Congress. Its text states that it would "amend the National Labor Relations Act to establish an efficient system to enable employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts, and for other purposes."[1] The latest version was introduced into both chambers of the U.S. Congress on March 10, 2009.[2]

In order for a workplace to organize under current U.S. labor law, the card check process begins when an employee requests blank cards from an existing union, and requests signatures on the cards from his or her colleagues.[3] If at least 30% of the workers in a workplace bargaining unit sign the cards, the employer may request that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) hold a secret ballot election to decide whether the workers want to be in a union.[3] In practice, the results of the card check usually are not presented to the employer until 50 or 60% of bargaining-unit employees have signed the cards.[3] If the employer decides to demand an election, and the majority of votes in the election favor the union, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) will certify it as the exclusive representative of the employees of that particular bargaining unit for the purpose of collective bargaining.

Technically, the traditional libertarian stance is open borders - even though that view has evolved somewhat - so really that Dailykos blogger doesn't know anything.

Plus, no true libertarian is going to do any demonization of foreigners.

But really all the political divisions are just that - political. Without an expansive government, people wouldn't have to fight to get control of it.

God, those people...

I just don't know what to say. They are caught up in a politics as religion fervor that has caused them to demonize others to the extent that they are debating about which step on the evolutionary ladder Republicans and "tea-baggers" are.

That, and they get the Right confused with Libertarians. It's disgusting.

They are angry that Libertarians stayed consistent on the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan when almost 100% of the Progressive movement did a massive fli-flop. Now Daily Kos barely even mentions the Patriot Act or Obama's plan to expand it.

Take a look at the bio of the mouth piece and founder of the Daily Kos.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markos_Moulitsas

What the hell happened and what is the story behind this guy? You would think after what his family went through he would go the opposite.

The left seems to worship this site as well as MSNBC. Maybe his background is why they selected him. Here is one case I agree with those here that say "controlled opposition" since this whole Daily Kos - Moulitsas - MSNBC thing does not make a whole lot of sense.

Well, gov employees are already unionized. And everyone else will be out of work soon. So it is a moot issue.

Ummm, correct me if I'm wrong , but isn't that a good reason to be in hysterics?? Which planet do these morons live on that makes us the crazy ones for not wanting to give 75% of our paychecks to fund the degenerates who REFUSE to provide for themselves?? Forget which country , which fucking planet ???!!

Daily KOS has been, and always will be, a giant shithole. Brimming with intellectual lightweights. They are correct to be afraid of Libertarians. One day, Libertarians are going to get tired of paying for thier fat, lazy, arrogant asses, and we will throw their fat, lazy, arrogant asses out on the street, just like the fat, lazy, arrogant piles of useless shit they are.

Yes I generalized, no I do not care.

Libertarians are the ones who opposed the wars from the beginning. Libertarians hate the Patriot act. Libertarians Hate Corporate Welfare. And libertarians didn't change thier minds on any of those things when Obama Got elected.

Apparently it's only bad when the GOP does those things. Because Obama is literally doing the exact same shit that Bush did, exact....same...shit. And KOS and the rest of the Gestapo fell right in line, just like a march I saw on a news reel from early 1940's Germany.

But I don't know why anyone is suprised by this. The extreme left is always bat-shit crazy, and no matter what country they ruin, no one learns, and a lot of people get killed. It's their Modus operandi.

The far-left vector that Kos appeals to is probably the most ignorant and the most brainwashed segment of society, especially all those Stanford, Caltech, MIT weenies, so I'm not so sure I would be to hard on them. They live in a carefully crafted bubble, for example they are told that they are really smart, get their egos regularly stroked, earn 6-figure salaries at evil-tech companies or work for a pittance as some NGO who is trying to save the world. It's really really sad to see just how badly this segment of society has been manipulated.... it's Full Spectrum Ponerization.

The problem with these idiots is that they don't see their own arrogance and immorality. If they would simply leave people alone and mind their own buisness all of this bickering would stop. However Libertarians are not going to lie down and take it, we have a right to our lives, property, and liberty.

We don't seek to control others, we simply want to be left alone respected and not aggressed upon. In return we will do the same. The Daily Kos has a very immoral position, they are the ones with the government guns waving them around telling people how to live their lives and claiming ownership over our free will.

Libertarians want only to be free to control our own lives and destinies. I can think of nothing more selfish then taking from a man his very freedom and life for personal gain.

I haven't read it but this is what happens when Glenn Beck calls himself a Libertarian.

Although I hate to admit it, this is very true. I really wish they'd stop aligning themselves as such. If they are conservatives...SAY SO! Or say Constitutionalists or something. Just stop calling yourselves libertarians when you clearly do not believe in the majority of libertarian philosophy.

Isn't it odd that libertarians are fighting a war against America? Little strange since I think libertarians are just about the only ones these days who want the country to align itself with the Constitution...you know...the founding document of our country. The one that prevents those beautiful undeclared wars and keeps a private committee of a quasi-governmental body from deciding the value of the dollar. Lets not forget the part about giving states the powers not explicitly given to the federal government. Kindda helps to read about our country's foundation and what it's all about before proclaiming somebody is against it

We have to marginalize and ultimately ignore these people now--and that goes for everyone from top to bottom: Democratic legislators, organizational activists, traditional media figures, bloggers, and regular voters. These crazies are already taking up far too much of our valuable time, attention and discourse. And it's only going to get worse. Much, much worse.

Wow. This people really want to push it and radicalize their readers.

True, and the thing I find amazing about it is how they are able to co-opt law enforcement by making a law to be enforced, and law enforce goes along for this barking moonbat stuff. Well more accurate to say that chiefs do for the enhanced budget and manpower - I have yet to meet a street cop who thinks anything good has come from gun control and all of this other craziness.

If your employer is unfair, quit. The workplace is the property of the employer, not the employee.

A field in which the employees are unionized and the employers create an organization, is a bilateral monopoly. The morons who are for unions believe that monopolies lead to a better result than a market in which you have atomicity. How many more companies need to go bankrupt due to unions? lol

And Kos is the epitome of the person who fled the USSR just to bash the West when they got there. There were LOTS of these useful idiots and it is related to cognitive dissonance.

aravoth, the socialisto-liberals are doing worse things than Bush now. Two years ago, I said that no matter who gets elected, it will be better. I was wrong.
