I agree, but don't be too hard on these celebrities. It's risky for a public personna to publicly link themselves to another person like that. What happens if the person they endorse turns out to be a murderer or something? It ends up reflecting back on the endorser badly, and for people who depend on their public image for their livelihood that's a big risk.

Yeah so they shouldn't risk their own hide for Liberty?
Supporting the revolution against the British was "risky" as well, and somewhat damaging to public image for certain careers. I hate all these bands that write anti-war songs but won't grow a pair and endorse the good Doctor.

Safe?
He talks about eliminating the Federal reserve! If you think that's safe, you haven't researched the power of banking interests carefully enough.
Picture the following scenario:
Arlo Guthrie (insert celebrity of your choice) loudly and publicly endorses RP. RP loses election.
3 years later, Arlo is in a meeting to discuss releasing a new album, but for some reason, none of the major labels want to have anything to do with him. None of the 23,000 clearchannel radio stations want to play his singles. Coincidence? Maybe...

To which I remarked that Dr. Paul was a pretty safe bet. And I stand by my comment.
Who was it that said that, freedom isn't free. Right here, right now, we have the chance to take a big step in getting it back with very little effort, compared to what those who came before us had to go through. If someone, anyone, is too chicken to stand up now for not only themselves, but their posterity, they are not only emasculated, they are not worthy of being Americans.
This is a perfect time for one of my favorite quotes...
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" - Samuel Adams

My God, Sean. Sometimes you have to have the courage to take a stand. I guess people are all very different. Even when this country was founded, there were many who were too scared to buck the British. I'm certainly glad there were others who had enough bravery for both themselves and their gutless brethren also. Aren't you?

To which I remarked that Dr. Paul was a pretty safe bet. And I stand by my comment.
Paul loudly and publicly advocates what is likely considered by some to be a radical political ideology. Your bringing up the revolutionary war is fairly apt. People who publicly declare for Paul, are sort of like rebels, and while that may sound romantic it's actually a very dangerous thing. Particularly for famous people that stand out of the crowd.
Hanging a Ron Paul sign on a freeway offers very little risk to the average person, associating your famous name with a cause has a very significant risk. I'm just saying you shouldn't judge so harshly these famous people that are shy of making a public show of their support. That's also why we should be extra grateful to those celebrities who do come out and announce their support. It's a very brave thing to do.
If someone, anyone, is too chicken to stand up now for not only themselves, but their posterity, they are not only emasculated, they are not worthy of being Americans.
That's really judgmental. Seems like an easy thing for you to say. Are you likely to be a person singled out for personal destruction, or is that just a role you feel empowered to demand for others?

Hey Sean,
We demand that people with power and influence grow some balls.
If that is judgmental, then fine.

No Sean. I'm apparently just not willing to go hide under my bed, as some others seem to want to do. People are of course free to make their own decisions. There have always been gutless wonders throughout history and it seems that we are not in any short supply of said, today.

Arlo Guthrie is the son of Woody Guthrie (song: This Land is Our Land, this land is your land,...) who is also a musician from the 60s and 70s "Alice's Restaurant" is the most famous song by him (also a movie).
He was active in anti VietNam protests back in the 60's and has a huge following of fans, or at least folks who know who he is.
For the 35+ crowd he is a household name.

"This Land is Your Land"
July 3 -- Woody Guthrie was originally from Oklahoma, but he loved traveling: he walked, hitch-hiked, and rode the rails all around the country. He was also a prolific writer, and scribbled the words to "This Land Is Your Land" down on a loose-leaf sheet of paper in 1940. Guthrie recorded the song for Mo Asch, founder of Folkways Records, in New York City in 1944, but the song wasn't released until 1951. By that time, "This Land Is Your Land" had become something of a leftist national anthem, sung at rallies, political events, and in schools. Folklorist Nick Spitzer pays tribute to Guthrie and his quintessentially American song.
I find it hilarious that they describe this song as Marxist, because I sung this song all the time when I was growing up. My parents were staunch anti-communists, so I am quite sure this is not true. Of course, Woody was an Oklahoman and so was I.
After listening to that NPR coverage, I'm starting to wonder though. Who knows...
