Wow that's pretty disgusting. I'm sensing this type of mindset more and more, at school, with neighbors, everywhere. It only seems to be getting worse.

That veterinarian should lose a lot of business from this episode.

This is seriously pathetic. When I had to take my mom's dog to have her put down, I really wanted to do it at home so the dog could die peacefully and be buried in the yard. It was impossible for me to do so.

I know that some animals are abused, and that's sick, but if a dog has lived to be 18--that owner has taken pretty damned good care of him.

Ridiculous.

That's freaking insane.

I guarantee that if you turn an 18 year old dog over to the SPCA they'll euthanize it regardless of health.

+1

And since the dog is now property of the shelter, it will be given to a rendering plant and not given back to the family for a burial.

Also, why did this vet's office not call the guy directly? Most vet offices negotiate payments and if the price is too prohibitive, they will put the dog down. 18 year old dogs get euthanized all the time. I'm guessing the poor family just wanted the dog to die in peace at home.

The vet was out of line, the police were out of line, seriously...who would bring an animal they abused to the vet in the first place?

Still wandering just what happened here?
Did they really dig up this guy's dog just because he didn't have the vet euthanize him?
What was wrong with the dog? Did he die from abuse?

SICK!!!!!!!!!!

After 18 years a man can't even put down his own dog?

I know a guy that literally took his dog out back and shot it. Had a ton of respect for that guy. He loved that animal. Hard thing to do, but he was a real man. Hard to be a real man these days.

Animals are property. You can do whatever you want with your property. This stuff irritates me to no end.
