Good post. EVERYBODY should get their vitamin D levels tested, i.e. 25(OH)D. For more info, and even info where you can get a home test kit, go to:

Already posted. But I agree. Get plenty of sunlight. Just don't get skin cancer.

My Mom says a clove of fresh garlic a day will keep immunities up also. She is 69 and the only meds she takes are about 20 to 30 vitamins daily. After each trip to the store, when she gets home she takes garlic. If she starts to feel sick she will take 3 or more cloves daily and is usually feeling better by the second clove. The only downfall of this is the dragon breath, whoa... can make your eyes water and nostrils burn if she is too close when talking.

Too bad having optimal vitamin D levels is the best thing you can do to regulate cytokine levels so there isn't a "storm."

So far as sunburn and getting one's Vitamin D...expose yourself during the more non-burning hours, not between 10AM and 2PM, and don't use sunblock. if you do use sunblock or creams, check for aluminium and other chemicals in the ingredients. 20 to 25 minutes during the "off" hours to exposed, arms, legs, back and chest (except for the delicate areas, eh ladies?) will do you quite well. It is good to have your D levels tested, however, as some people can sunbathe and still need supplementation and a very rare group of people have bad reactions to Vitamin D. Check your favorite search engine for more information and just how much good appropriate Vitamin D3 is against various diseases and ailments.
