View Full Version : We MUST privatize police

I have had enough with tax-funded State and County police. There are too many examples of police officers abusing power and doing downright evil things because they have little incentive to watch their behavior. Their buddies will protect them.

But if they answered to our wallets, then they would listen. I propose we pressure our Representatives to create legislation that makes it easier for private police forces to compete with state-funded police. I also advocate legislation that makes private police just as bound to give due-process to those they arrest.

Try contacting Xe or Blackhawk as they were formally known. They have experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They already are privatized. That is the problem. They work for the Lawyers.
They are hired guns with unions to protect them.

Get rid of the Police. Outlaw them. The County Sheriff ( Elected=Not Hired) and armed citizens are all you need.

What I'm saying is push for legislation that would make them just as bound by the law to give due process, and make them only responsible for their customers.

Wouldn't it be GREAT if citizens paid a small monthly fee and got a top rate police force that served YOU? If you were a customer, you could call them up on speed dial. If you wern't a customer, you could still call them, but they would charge you.

Police right now are pigs who think they deserve honorary status because they graduated from the academy. A private officer knows he only deserves what the customer gives him.

i'm completely with you on this one pete, but for sake of argument, how would a large city of a couple million operate? I understand there would be deputies, detectives, etc., but what would stop them from becoming a bastardized form that resembles what we have today? Yearly elections? Private investigations for all crimes?

Cities are located in Counties. They could still have a Constable , but subject to the Sheriff, and with limited powers.
An armed population, and a severe reduction in laws would lead to a more peaceful society.

Basically a return to Peace Officers and an elimination of Enforcement Officers.

Man, our sheriff scares me though(Leon Lott). Hes the dood that wanted to press charges against Phelps for allegedly smoking a bong in a picture he saw on the net. They drive around here like storm troopers in their vehicles and from my understanding they even have tanks. If you look them up on the net the sheriff and deputies look like the GD mob!

Next election.
Everyone focuses on the President. He is only a figurehead, and "runs" nothing.
Folks ignore the Sheriff for the most part. He is seen as a minor official, but in reality can have a huge effect on local conditions.

I have considered this myself, however with my "outlaw" past it may be hard to get votes.
Outlaw turned lawman is not unheard of though. ;)

Thanks, but I haven't thrown my hat in the ring yet.
Looks like that sheriff is getting a lot of Federal handouts. They come with strings attached.

Who is he really working for?

I have no idea. I just moved back a year ago. BUT....this area is fairly rual for the most part. Its not too large. Lott apparently likes to focus on the "war on drugs" so....yeah. Total puppet.

Under the militia idea this would be a huge problem. Under my plan where cops are paid to do their job, they would be fired because customers would stop paying them.

Under a militia, the same yahoos would have the same buddy-buddy system where they shield each other, and they have less incentive to serve the public.

But a private police business would start small--with a dozen customers and only a few streets to patrol. If the people are pleased with the job their doing, they will grow large enough to eventually police an entire town! Of course there would have to be many different police forces to create competition.

Just what we need, more Pinkertons. Blackwater is already what you are talking about, a very bad Idea.

The Militia ARE the public. They serve the public, they are made up of the public.
You are talking about a private army. That is never a good idea.

You are talking about Hired Mercenaries.

mall ninja

A term used in forums to mean an unexperienced and enthusiastic weapon(usually a firearm)owner who pretends to be a seasoned operator. The phrase came about as a result of an over the top character in a famous satirical thread.
