ACORN fires 2 after hidden-camera footage aired

BALTIMORE -- The group ACORN has fired two employees who were seen on hidden-camera video giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman who pretended to be a prostitute.

Fox News Channel broadcast excerpts from the video Thursday. On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN's Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."

The pair also claimed they planned to employ teenage girls from central America as prostitutes, and an ACORN employee suggested that up to three of the girls could be claimed as dependents, according to transcripts of the video posted online by conservative activist James O'Keefe.

O'Keefe told Fox he posed as the pimp and that he was shocked by the ACORN employees' helpfulness.

In a statement, ACORN Maryland board member Margaret Williams said the video was an attempt to smear ACORN, and that undercover teams attempted similar setups in at least three other ACORN offices.

Williams said no tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided.

The thing that is the most amazing of all... she lies her arse off.. as if no one really knows what happened... not to mention, most of the "press" (the loosest of all possible definitions used) will ever report this story factually..

If it is reported, it will be as a "right wing smear job" against ACORN, and not the fact that ACORN has more on going investigations than the Mafia, and is sitting there on tape telling people how to hide their under age illegal whores from the State and Federal authorities..

How much trash are "we the people" suppose to eat before we actually get mad enough to force change?... the apathy and ignorance is stunning.

This was all orchestrated by Glenn Beck. He rightly predicted that ACORN would fire these women to distance themselves from them, while continuing to spend taxpayer money on similar operations.

But there's a problem with your scheme, Glenn. You call yourself a libertarian. Libertarians support legalizing prostitution. So why all the moral outrage that someone is trying to help a prostitute circumvent the legal system? If you really support individual liberty, then you should be decrying the authoritarians who are trying to make life more difficult for women like this who provide a service between consenting adults.

I can understand the outrage for the part about having teenage girls from central america working as prostitutes, though.

So what's your point? What libertarian in their right mind would be ok with tax dollars going to such an organization?

Maybe the point is to spread distrust and sow discord within the Liberty Movement. We are much weaker divided. United, we surround them.

Let's make a list of 'suspects' we can't trust for whatever reasons:

Alex Jones
Glen Beck
Bachmann
Palin
Adam Kokesh
DeMint
Joe Wilson
Cavuto, etc, etc, etc...

Perhaps it would be more productive to discuss the message, rather than the courier?

I knew someone would bring up the whole prostitution should be legal angle. It doesn't matter what angle they used for the sting. All that matters is that they get ACORN to go along with something illegal. It could have been tax evasion, selling drugs, murder, or avoiding parking tickets. You're right, prostitution should be legal. But right now it's not.

As a libertarian, I don't like income taxes. That doesn't mean I think Charlie Rangel should get away with not paying his taxes, especially when he gets paid with tax payer money and writes the tax laws.

I'll give you the prostitution should be legal argument. However, you would be hard pressed to find somebody on here that believes that the government should dish out money to prop up a prostitution business or any other business for that matter.
