Got Civil Rights? - candidate independent flier idea

Have an idea for a leaflet that could be used by any candidate. Take a look at this page:
http://coreofcorruption.com/index.php/?page_id=16
If you scroll down the page just past the 9/11 banner ads it starts listing legislation that stole civil rights and how. Way too long, I know.

Now scroll almost to the bottom and you see a copy of the bill of rights with rights lost in red (clickable). Better! So I was thinking something like that with a strike through each section (text of right that is gone) or keep it in red if it's a really big print run and put a line to a numbered circle to each struck portion. Then number the laws: patriot act, MCA, etc or just PA, MCA, etc. probably clearer and put check boxes by each. maybe add some footnotes too or better brief explanation of what was taken by each bill... sneak and peak searches, lib records, warrantless wiretapping, etc. Anyway - that's the generic form. Leave room for your Sen/Rep voted to remove these right by voting for the checked Laws. Then custom for each would be who they are and the checkmarks. Ideally add more current boxes too - the bailouts, food safety act, health care bill, etc. Then also custom per flier who is running against them and what they will do to fix the situation.

What do you think?

Other points to piss ppl off:
Actual unemployment rate at 17%
According to bureau of labor statistics, when you include discouraged workers who gave up looking, and part timers who want to work full time....we are at depression era numbers
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t12.htm
Shadow Stats has it pegged at 21.1%

Not reporting the money supply numbers.

The debt, deficit and the difference in what those words mean.

Paragraph about states revolting on 10th amendment grounds. Gun rights, pot, health care bill, states threatening succession. Briefly how the government has overstepped it's bounds re: Interstate commerce and general welfare clauses.

Other things? - basically a road map of government power grabs and deception, czars, etc.

I'm thinking a look and feel like those full page ads we ran.

OK, several different ways to do this. The first is doing a truly huge print run one sided and in one or 2 colors. They should be able to stand on their own as a flyer, or a candidate could print the second side with information about their opponents voting record and themselves.

As camera ready copy for local or national newspaper ads.

As an e-mail with encouragement to forward to your mailing list. (not local specific, obviously)

As a web site to make it go viral and make it local – even if we aren't running a candidate in that area. Basically, the “print side” should be static so search engines will index it and a dynamic part that would determine where someone was connecting from and serve up their congress critters voting record on important issues and offer a more civil rights friendly alternative if someone is running in the area. Also point to where people can find out more about their critters voting record.

No one you like running in your area? - how about you? (link)

What's desired is to be educational and non-partisan. Point out that it's Congress that makes laws and encourage readers to check out their critters voting record and see if they are representing them. If not, encourage them to do something about it. We are looking for a “Cliffs notes” or “Readers Digest” version of what has been going on in this country.

As to our candidates – how about anyone running that signs onto a pledge to restore civil right in the Bill of rights and roll back the federal government where they have exceeded their authority as specified in article 1, section 8 of the Constitution.

OK – if they are not happy with the direction this country has been going and/or with their congress critters voting record ask them to do the following: (there is much overlap with the viral strategy, so I'm going to combine them).

For us – start with banner ads (paid) for maybe a month and perhaps permanently if donations allow it. Provide embed code to put such a banner on web pages, facebook/MySpace, etc, in .sigs, on blogs and so on and encourage people to do so. The “Freedom Alliance” would be a good vector here. Provide code to put up such banner ads.

Have interested parties sign up w/ their e-mail addy (optional). Basically we want to send them a reminder before the primaries and before the main election to take specific actions.

Encourage then to write their congress critter and provide contact info for said critters. Basically BEHAVE or move on... The “pink slip” and “moving tips” project was pure genius! - maybe link to that, though the pink slip part needs to be updated.

Email – ask everyone to email their contact list and have instructions imbedded for the recipient to do likewise. Get organizations to utilize their e-mail lists.
camera ready copy – printer, xerox, newspaper. Talk to/leaflet your neighbors, strangers and community. Encourage printing up and placing on community bulletin boards and on light polls.
Encourage letters to the editor – have a short, memorable DNS name for the web site that people can embed in their letters.
Encourage talk radio call ins for the same reason as above. Ideally provide local call in numbers and schedules. Also YouTube.
Use features of SNS's to spread the message and just talking to their friends and neighbors or people next to them in the grocery store line. Have a printable card that you could get 25-30 to a sheet that someone could print out and hand to contacts or leave in books and magazines.

American citizens are prime to receive this message NOW! There has been enough push back that I think the Obama Admin/socialists realizes that they have to back down now – but there are still the crimes of the Bush admin to heap on top of it. (that he's only expanded) There is a great button: Question Authority” - We need one that says “Question “CHANGE””.... If he gets a second term we will see some really nasty stuff – if he has a Congress that will give it to him. This is about taking out that Congress. The time is ripe, and I'd say we have 1-2 months to pull it off, because ppl are pissed off NOW!

Is anyone interested in doing a conference call about making this a reality?
