View Full Version : CNN & MSNBC not telling WHOLE truth with Van Jones reporting...not a "win" yet

I'm probably not gonna say this quite the way I'd like, I've been up half the night with a newborn...

I saw the announcement in the early morning, and was not surprised the White House chose the middle of the night, on a weekend, a holiday weekend at that, to present a one-liner about Van Jones resigning. "Obama aide Van Jones resigns as environmental adviser amid controversy over past statements."

I'm not terribly surprised, but of course a bit disappointed, to wake to news stories from CNN and MSNBC that are less than forthcoming with their reporting about Van Jones and why people are in an uproar about the situation. Both news stations are blaming only his 9/11 views and his comments about Republicans (along with Glenn Beck). There is no mention about his Communist ties at all. Personally, I care very little about his 9/11 views or comments about Republicans. They may show a lack of judgement, which is disconcerting, but not disturbing to the level that his real views are on politics and the direction he'd like to see this country head in.

This is particularly annoying since so many only tune into one station these days for their news and discount others. I expect the White House to try to spin this, but it is not the job of major news networks to spin this story for them.

This is not a "win" yet until CNN and MSNBC will acknowledge the real reason for the outcry. Van Jones had not only a very radical past, but communist views as well and it reaches well beyond his "Czar" position. If the public thinks he resigned due to 9/11 and Republican comments they will not have as much problem with him working with the White House behind the scenes as they might if they knew he was an admitted Communist whose political ties have not changed much since that time.

The media has too heavy of a hand in determining elections, policies, etc. The real story is being plowed under. I think they hope by Tuesday it will subside. Just as people called the White House, people need to rally and call/flood CNN & MSNBC and demand they tell the WHOLE story, not their edited version. This is not about views or petitions signed about 9/11 or comments made about Republicans, it goes much deeper than that. The AP writers need to get off their behinds and start reporting. They need to stop being government mouthpieces and really be journalists as they claim.

Also, besides calling the stations, any other ideas to help this story come to light more? For example (probably not the best one), those who watched the series "Jericho" sent nuts to executives at the tv station en mass, as well as wrote and called till they approved a 2nd season. Perhaps we need to send pens to remind the station they are supposed to be penning original reporting, and they are supposed to be reporters first, not pretty, eye-candy mouthpieces (lol, maybe the candied lips would be better...though I don't know if they make those anymore and are probably pretty hard to find).

Anyway, I'm knee deep in diapers, chasing around tots, etc, but could someone post CNN and MSNBC's phone numbers perhaps? I'm sure it wouldn't take a long, but I've gotta run.

It would be a win if VJ took down neocon talking heads and crooks at Fox with him. Otherwise it's just a score change in commie-neocon infighting that does not change anything of substance.

Yeah, everyone here is saying "Yeah! That guy leaving is a win for liberty!" *fap**fap**fap* And all I'm seeing from the reports is that the guy was a truther and he thinks Republicans are assholes--seems like a cool guy from that info.

Ian, that's a very broad brush painting, lately many Republicans have moved away from things like Iraq invasion and spending, bailouts, patriot act. Many Republicans are decent people like anyone else. Even if they made election of Barack Hussein possibe, we should not alienate them and give them a second chance as long as they are apologotic about dangerous past views.

the only thing Van Jones ever got right in his life (9/11 inside job)..is the reason he got fired...

not because he was arrested for helping start the LA riots
not because he is an admitted communist
not because he is a vicious white hating, America hating racist
not because his environmentalist claims are totally unscientific
not because his "czar" position is unauthorized under the constitution

no..it was none of that...

only when it became known that dared to question the official 9/11 fairy tale, did he get shit-canned...

intersting aint it?

Well, everyone is making good points but I'll comment on the original post.

I think that CNN and MSNBC are not reporting on Van Jones' communist past, because they are catering to their audience. Who is their main audience? Leftists/Liberals, who probably don't give a damn if our government is run by communists -- many may actually want a socialist/communist government. I've been handed a socialist workers newspaper (forget the name) a few times on the street, mainly in front of a community college I used to go to. Unfortunately, I feel most Americans couldn't define socialism or communism if their lives depended on it, and even a few may be sympathetic to it. And even worse, many people who share similar beliefs with communists/socialists are so deluded that they might actually think that they are fighting for freedom.

I tend to agree.

Very disappointing to see it in the country today, but it's definitely there.

I would be curious if everyone would post one large piece of evidence which points to 9/11 being an inside government hit job for the justification to invade Iraq.

Mine has always been that Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the Feds quickly shipped all the remaining steel from the buildings out of the country for recycling. Now if there is a single engine plane crash, each portion of the airplane is studied for weeks before an announcement is made as to the cause. So why did Guliani and the Feds destroy all the evidence so quickly? And no member of the news media ever questioned it; not that I saw.

Honestly? Really? He is a communist. Who are these people? How can you be associated with a liberty movement and say something like that?

I noticed this also and it is incredibly frustrating since people I speak to never heard of Van Jones so when a sound bite is reporting only about 9/11 instead of his Communist ties I believe that is what people are going to take away from this.

The media is focusing on the belief that the government possibly sat by and allowed the 9/11 attacks to occur. I do not think that is absurd at all and is a commonly held belief around here in NY. The reason being is that it was felt by many of us here in NY that we were over due and why is the government not doing anything to the point of gross negligence. I am not even a 9/11 truther and do not know any truthers but felt this way.

Sean Hannity started the criticism of that belief at FNC which carried over to the rest of the network and eventually the MSM. By doing so Hannity helped provide cover against any criticism for his good friend Rudy Guiliani and helped him get closer to the Bush administration. He did such a good job no one can now question 9/11 without being accussed of being a kook or unpatriotic. It is Sean Hannity however that is a traitor to all those that died on 9/11 since it his job to keep adequate distance to be unbiased and question those in power rather than be blinded by friendship.

This is not a win. This is a Propaganda moment, and nothing else.

He is out, but that hardly matters. He is out for the wrong reason and it is being reported as the reason. He questioned the Official story. This is going to affect anyone else that questions the Official Story. This will end any new investigation.

His communist ties / leanings are not being questioned or reported. He will still be around to influence, even if he is out of official position.
Others is the administration will still be Communist/Socialist. And someone else will be appointed.

The Media Keeps going with the Official story. A win for Propaganda.

Ignore the MSM! Don't write to them, it just keeps them thinking they are relevant. We need to quit worrying about what MSNBC & CNN are saying, it's almost always going to be lies.
