Are Obama policies creating more terrorists for future generations?

NATO airstrike kills 90, including 40 civilians, in Afghanistan

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan – A U.S. jet blasted two fuel tankers hijacked by the Taliban in northern Afghanistan, setting off a huge fireball Friday that killed up to 90 people, including dozens of civilians who had rushed to the scene to collect fuel, Afghan officials said.

The airstrike is likely to intensify concern over civilian casualties in the Afghan war. Top NATO commander, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has ordered curbs on airstrikes after a strong backlash among Afghans over civilians killed in military operations.

In Kabul, the NATO command said a "large number of insurgents" were killed or injured in the pre-dawn attack near the village of Omar Khel in Kunduz province. In Brussels, the alliance's chief said it was possible civilians died.

Kunduz Gov. Mohammad Omar said 90 people were killed. A senior Afghan police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the information, said that included about 40 civilians who were siphoning fuel from the trucks.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai announced he was creating a panel to investigate the attack. "Targeting civilians is unacceptable for us," he said.

We can expect many people to become radicalized now after seeing their family members blown up. How would we feel if some foreign government did that to us?

I think the contractor hazing nudie pictures story (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=208631) is being run as a cover/diversion for this kind of activity and probably much worse in Afghanistan.

Good points guys.

Also, where is all those anti Bush war protesters now that Obama is waging the "good war"?

Obama worshipers at MSNBC, CNN, FOX would probably give it 5 seconds if they did cover it.

From the article linked to in the OP...

Violence has soared across much of the country since President Barack Obama ordered 21,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan this year, shifting the focus of the U.S.-led war on Islamic extremism from Iraq. Fifty-one U.S. troops died in Afghanistan in August, the deadliest month for American forces there since the U.S.-led invasion in late 2001.

That quote sounds not grounded in facts, I thought we empowered Iran allied Islamic religious groups like Maliki's Dua and Hakim's SCIRI party to put pressure on secular Baathists and perhaps even Israel.

That's what I've been wondering.

Fury at Nato's Afghan clinic raid

A member of the Afghan parliament has criticised a Nato air strike on a clinic where a Taliban leader was being treated for his injuries.

US and Afghan forces attacked the clinic in the Sar Hawza district of Paktika province, eastern Afghanistan, on Thursday.

Khalid Faroqi, who represents Paktika province, said it was an offence to fire on such a facility.
