I wish him the best. He's got a good case. The most common argument against a right to bear arms is that it was only meant to keep the federal government from disarming state organized militias. But Richard was part of a state organized militia. We're not talking "Montana freeman" or anything. Key to the foundational Miller decision was that sawed off shotguns were not the type of weapon used by the military. So here we have someone in a state organized militia attempting to own the standard issue military weapon. It's a slam dunk case...if the judiciary was actually willing to do its job. But based on that last "if" his chances of winning aren't great unfortunately. :( Still we can do our part. Call your favorite (or less than favorite) talk show and bring up the case! Call the NRA and GOA and other "gun rights" groups and ask them why they're not taking this up. Make some noise!

I don't think the NRA is interested,
it is not a case about hunting.
Am watching, cautiously hopeful.

You need to see the website http://www.nrawol.net/
It explains how the NRA is a bunch of sellouts.

So here we have someone in a state organized militia attempting to own the standard issue military weapon. It's a slam dunk case...You of course neglect to realize that the government has an interest in stifling this sort of thing.
