I think we'll make it. I think too many of us have gotten into this only to let him reach 990,000. We've raised 768,000 in 5 days. At this rate we'll hit 1,000,000. I know that if on sunday evening he's not there I'll dig a little deeper in my pocket.

If people are holding off donations, it's going to hit hard when either of two things happen:

* the total hits $900k, or
* within the last two hours of Q3

It'll be "off to the races" either way it happens. No bones about it, we will make it, if even by a hair.

We will reach $1 million easily. The numbers look low because the first number (770K was mistakenly given for 8pm instead of 9pm.

We have taken in 155K today with 3 hours to go, which means we'll wind up at about 175 K today or 790 K total. That will leave us with two full days to make 210 K, not difficult considering we made 175 K today.

prepare for a second victory!

I've been recording the totals continuously since noon Wednesday (when we were at 340k). It's now 12:45am est; we're at 797k for the drive and just passed 9000 donations. $88.45 is currently the average per donation.

I've made a graph and added an "imaginary" line that goes from $0 at 2pm Mon (when we started) to $1.2M Sunday midnite.

We've been tracking just below it for most of the past two days, so this is a tough but achieveable goal.

So let's break above this line and go for $1.2M !

That may be, but this is a true grassroots phenomenon. So maybe the everyday folks out there will have more time to donate on the weekend. Also, a lot of people just got paid and their money will be available starting Saturday. It will be interesting to see.

Don't worry (yet). The donation rate is not even, so we're going to be behind in the morning. See the graph at:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=20890

The key will be how donations go on a weekend. Less because people are out and aren't at their computer? Or more because many just had a payday and because many others are waiting until the last couple of days anyway?

We will soon see...

I expected us to be behind the trend line at this point. However, if we are not back on track by 4.pm Eastern then I will start to be concerned. We need $32,000+ in the next five hours. And a lot more would be better. we really need to crack $900K today. And if we are going to spank Edwards we need $950K today.

Here are some encouraging statistics.

Up to now they have raised an average 6916 per hour. In order to meet the 1 million goal they only need to average 3611 per hour for the remaining time as of noon Eastern.

If we continue at 6916 per hour,we should hit the 1 mill mark sometime tomorrow morning or noon tomorrow at the latest. If we continue on the trend until midnite tomorrow, the final total will be 1,078,896.

Just on a fun FYI note, as of 11:48AM EST, Ron has closed in on Richardson's campaign, the gap now being $19,486. At a few points I remember it being $100,000+.

I actually think it is even more meaningful, because if you look at Richardson and Edwards' $-monitors, they aren't realtime to the second like Ron's. Those guys could pad their numbers with paper checks, or a fundraising event. You know Ron's numbers are pure online donations as we've all seen our names tick through the website and watch the $$$'s increase. You have zero proof it's pure online donations for Richardson or Edwards.

People around the country are doing a hell of a job at reaching deep. I really think we're going to hit the $1.0 million mark tomorrow!

I think a lot of people are holding out to help push him over the top as we get close to the $1,000,000 mark.

I was going to hold off giving again until the last minute, eventhough I can't afford it.

My wife stays at home to homeschool our 3 children, and I don't make much money anyway. But my rational is this, if you think about it, we really don't own anything anyway (just try not to pay your rent, ie. property taxes), not even our own money, it's the FED's money, they can print more, so what the heck just go deeper into debt to get Ron Paul elected and then we have a chance, or give sparingly and let the establishment ruin the whole country. The choice seems pretty clear to me.

I think that it would be cool if people maxed out their credit limit to give to the Ron Paul campaign, and filed for bankruptcy, and when asked why they did such a thing, respond that the government does the same thing and they don't seem to worry about it, so why should we. You could also say that you were investing your money to help the economy.

I was completely thinking the same thing! When I was wondering how much I should donate to the campaign back in the second quarter, I realized that out of all the investments I could possibly make, this one is by far the best I've ever come across. I donated the max $2,300.

If he wins the election, then I'll easily make back much of the money when the value of my existing dollars increases. Not to mention the money I'll save if the income tax is repealed.

If he loses the election, then the money I currently have in teh bank will probably continue to drop in value. If I hadn't donated any money to the election then I'd have more money in the bank, but in enough time it wouldn't be worth as much.

Bill Richardson is at $970,000.00 and John Edwards hasn't updated since yesterday morning which means his campaign is purposely holding off the update until they can claim a million. Looks like we had an easier go of it than they did.:D
