That is interesting as at least in my area: as I don't even people in my state know what a library or bookstore even is, public transportation is a complete failure, golfing is ridiculously expensive no matter what, and space...really? Fucking tarded socialist bullshit.

Library, public transportation, public golf course, fire dept, police dept, etc. All local government responsibilities, vastly different from the federal level, its an apples to oranges comparison.
