Ron Paul should find a running mate who is like minded on most issues, not one or two.

yeah was giving them a look months before ron paul decided to run....maybe if the republican nomination doesn't work out....us paulites and the unity 08 people can unite? I had this thought the other day.

They seem to believe the Republicans and Democrats are extreme opposites and want to form a party in the middle. To me, their is very little difference between the two.

I'm pretty sure Ron Paul isn't going to run under any third party or as an independent candidate.

i'm not suggesting a paul / gravel ticket.. what do you think of the idea of unity '08 in general?

This is another liberal agenda group... nothing new here... Just a spinoff of the democratic party.

Also, nowhere on the site does it talk about "issues" or "its stances" - this is because by committing to anything would truly show their colors. Nothing new here, just another way to syphon votes.

Exactly. I saw their spokesman, Sam Waterston, on the Colbert Report the other night, and while I think Unity08 is a good idea, I really disagreee with them on that.

I still haven't seen how they expect to be put on any ballots anywhere ... other than "join us to make it happen" bull-speak...

A Unity party is stupid. It doesn't address the problem. Unity is one of those lame buzz words like consensus or bi-partisan. A bi-partisan solution just means that you keep the most ineffectual feel-good ideas of both sides while throwing out the ones that would actually do something. Whenever I hear the term "bi-partisan legislation" I immediately think symbolism over substance.
