Hey Yall...

From now on, we should use Goodsearch.com as our primary search engine. You can select a non-profit to help, and C4L and Mises are both on there! So just by searching we raise money for Liberty!

PLEASE SPREAD THIS AROUND! A few thousand RP'ers all searching between 10-30 times a day could make some good cash for C4L!

Check it out!

Is this the national C4L or a local chapter? How can I do searches for the Von Mises Institute?

Oh, this link works for Von Mises: http://www.goodsearch.com/?charityid=811036

I guess clicking either one locks in my donor. I couldn't search for the donor.

Oh, duh. I could also click "Clear selection".

Yea, its a pretty neat system, C4L has already raised 60$ with only 4,000 searches. We get 4,000 RP'ers to search 30 times a day, and wow. We would be doing pretty good!

EASY ACTIVISM.

This should be stickied in the Grassroots Forum. I have had it in my sig for a while. The Shop thing has really helped us. It is for the National CFL, not any local chapter.

good for you! :)

I'll agree with whomever suggested it be a sticky. This is a great idea - all it would take would be a few searches a day by even half the C4L membership and it could raise some pretty good cash.

all this does is make goodsearch more money, and send a fraction to CFL (which I don't want to fund today anyway). This is much like the IRS wanting you to get a job so you can be taxed, when they can find a job making money directly.

if you click a few ads on this forums, it'll make the webmaster much more (without sharing with another party). I don't care if you say "but this costs us nothing", yes it does, it costs you time, and it pays other people, THAT'S the difference.

If you are going to do a search anyway, it doesn't "cost you time"- I can search using Goodsearch just as quickly as any other commercial engine.

However, clicking away at ads on a website for no reason (as you suggest) is a waste of time.

So what if Goodsearch makes money, as long as some of it goes to the charity? It's better than using some commercial engine where all the money goes to the Corporation, and the charity gets nothing.
