he also justifies his own use of torture.... this guys a bit strange and while he doesn't see it this way - a bit of a walking oxymoron

He is very logically inconsistant. They hate the US for what we do to them, except for torture.
WTF kind of thinking is that?

Yeah, I posted this while I was listening at the beginning, before torture came up. Disappointing to hear his view on that

If it sounds like he supports torture it's probably because a "War on Terror", if it must be fought, can't be won without it. About 3/4 into the interview he says he wishes we'd get rid of interrogation altogether and be honest about why we're fighting (hint: it's sure as hell not freedom and liberty).
