http://www.usnews.com/blogs/washington-whispers/2009/08/25/sarah-palin-and-jeb-bush-poised-to-lead-town-hallers.html

Some call it the next conservative revolution, but whatever we dub the antigovernment ire at tea parties and town halls, there so far appears to be no elected official leading the charge. "It's a faceless movement," says a former Bush adviser, who credited media bigs like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck for whipping up the frenzy. So who's best positioned to lead the protesters into the next presidential election? Whispers asked a dozen GOP and conservative leaders to come up with a top 10 list. First, Rep. Ron Paul, popular among the town hallers. Then, Sarah Palin, whose 2008 crowds cheered her antitax message. Third, Newt Gingrich, the father of the 1994 conservative revolution. Next, populist Mike Huckabee. And fifth, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, said to be the family's passionate conservative.

The rest: South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint; Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour; Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal; House GOP Whip Eric Cantor; and Pennsylvania Senate hopeful Pat Toomey.

Note who's missing: Mitt Romney. The GOP analysts say that's because conservatives are wary of his program to reform healthcare in Massachusetts that some say resembles universal healthcare.

And then they turn around and leave RP off the 2012 poll next to the article. Asshats.

LOL. You're right. Paul comes in first and Bush, FIFTH, and they decide to put BUSH in the title.

What jerks.

I have the feeling that Jeb is going to be propelled into a Presidential run in 2012. Strangely enough, after 4 years of Obama (if we all survive it), a lot of Republicans will whole-heartedly welcome another Bush. They can't put up all the same candidates as 2008 so expect Bush, Newt and probably Palin to be the newcomers against Romney, Huck and hopefully RP. Of course they all will be screaming about how conservative they are and always have been. This is why we desperately need RP to run again as a litmus test for conservatives.

Other than Ron Paul, DeMint is the only person on that list I can even remotely stomach thinking about as the next inhabitant of the White House. Palin? When can we stop talking about this irrelevant ditz? Gingrich, Huckabee, Jeb Bush??? Will we never have a bearable President again?

Tron, why are you always spamming the boards with Palin crap. 1/3 of the threads you started have Palin in the title. You might feel more at home on O'reilly or Hannity's forums.

Good observation, DV.

Also, who gives a damn about the two party system or its phony politicians and fake elections. Why does anyone continue to buy into this?

P.S. Jeb Bush will be the nominee.... that's been determined already.

It is obvious that TronPalin has a crush on Caribou Barbie.

Just think of what the "Palin Army" would resemble. The Special Olympics, maybe? The brightest member of that team is her neocon handler that has his arm shoved up her ass working her jaw. Too bad he can't put her words in correct order to help her make sense.

Silly noob, spam is unsolicited commercial email, not something you find disagreeable.

If you RTFA you would know RP was 1st and SP 2nd in the poll, hence the title. Maybe you'd like to go play on 4chan or Digg, while the adults discuss the future of the GOP?

:DEnjoy the Town Hall with Paul & Bachmann!:D

seems to be a one man "adult" conversation. As you post a thread and 90% of the responses are anti-palin. so it is not something I find disagreeable. it is something the vast majority of the board finds disagreeable. No one here supports her, except you. I guess your dream ticket is going to be Gingrich/Palin 2012.

And everytime I have posted the video it was either in your thread or started as a response to your thread to show what an illiterate fucktard sarah palin is.

Whew I've had just about as much of this forum as I can take for one night.

Palin was going to be Ron Paul's pick for VP.... she would have energized the ticket and perhaps given us a win.

She is not tainted by Kissinger, Rockefeller and Soros... and likes Ron a lot.

You Ron Paul people are very confused children indeed... worse than I thought.

If Palin could do for America what she did for Alaska that would be a 1000% improvement. She kicked butts of corrupt people and threw them out, reduced taxes for everyone and paved the way for more energy development. She hates big gov and ran a lean government in Alaska which is in great shape because of her. Her local speech patterns are a very shallow thing to dislike her for....she is a smart cookie.

I am not sure what is not to like about this or her, she did that which is better than what most governors and presidents do. Oh wait I forgot -- she is popular with the mainstream so that must mean something is wrong with her.... silly me.

Source?

A small group of evangelical Paul supporters here floated the idea. To state as fact that she was going to be RP's VP pick is flat out false.

There were people on here that wanted her as his running mate. But Ron never commented on it. She referred to RP as "cool" once and never mentioned him again. Buchanan said to trust her, so I'll wait until she proves herself. May be she should endorse Rand Paul & Peter Schiff. That would be a start.

That's pretty much how I remember it. Back in those days, if anyone in government anywhere said anything positive about RP, a bunch of folks on this forum went ape-shit over it.

There's a new posting from US World News featuring letters to the editor in response to the "Sarah Palin and Jeb Bush Poised to Lead Town-Hallers". The comments in THIS link are 60% Paul and 40% Palin.

It's what we needed to take down ObamaCare.

I hope Kennedy doesn't bring it back to life. If Obama wins, we get death panels one way or another.

Then comes the Carbon Tax. Out of carbon credits? Sorry, no driving. Don't worry, you can breathe on credit. For now.

tones, for the trillionth time, you don't have to like Palin to be a conservative and you don't have to read liberal propaganda to refuse to vote for her. Can't reasonable people disagree on the subject without this slander and flaming?

Hate to tell you, but since she quit in mid-term, I think the liberals like her better than most Republicans. Deal with it.

Tones. If you don't quit calling anyone who has the slightest disagreement with you commies/socialists/HP readers, Olbermann-lovers, etc. I'm going to stop being even minimally polite to you.

Everyone here knows that Palin/Beck have done a hell of a lot to earn the criticism they've received, if you don't, then that's your intellectual failing. That said, YOU by collectively calling everyone on this forum a name, or one, or two or three--make is SO much more difficult to step back and give someone like Beck a chance, because I have no interest in being in the "blindly/dumbly loyal" club that you seemingly would love to chair.

Considering the number of times you've done this and the amount of effort and money that so many people have put into this cause, you owe almost every single one of us an apology--no less.

Speaking of which, did you sign up for Josh's effort on HR 1207? How much did you donate to Rand? To Ron? Have you called/emailed/written your congressman lately? What exactly are you doing aside from pimping Palin/Beck?

How's it feel to have your loyalty questioned?

GTFO with that nonsense. Palin hasn't displayed much, if any, classic conservative principles during her short and rather embarrassing political career. Your statement is tired and is nothing but a poor ad hominem.

OK so you like that she's a woman, we get it. (see how that works?)

I wouldn't vote for her because she's not shown any conservative principles that I can discern and she's an airhead.

Do you see the trend going towards more, less, or the same amount of SoCons posting here? I see less, as does Tones.

Regardless of your opinion, raising that issue is not an example of ad hominem!

Of course it is. Won't vote for Palin = Liberal. That's clear ad hominem and that's what tones basically stated. It's not defending Palin's conservative record, rather it's attacking the conservative credentials of those that don't support Palin. That's ad hominem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem

An ad hominem argument, also known as argumentum ad hominem (Latin: "argument to the person" or "argument against the person") consists of composing an argument with reference to a characteristic or belief of the person making the argument or claim.

SoCons? Social conservatives? Meaning the religious and abortion opponents and stuff? Yeah, probably less. But I chalk that up to many people starting to see that social issues are taking a back seat to other more important issues currently emerging. Also, social conservatives never seemed to make up a large portion of RP's supporters, in my estimation anyway. He never used his religion to win votes so most of the evangelicals, which are the bulk of SoCons, went toward Huck. There never was a large group of them here to begin with. It was that small group that were the fans of Palin. That group got even smaller when she agreed to be McCain's running mate.

EDIT: lol banned again eh? I didn't even get to finish my post before you went from live to dead....
