Obama issued a Ramadan video message to mark start of holy muslim month as he starts his own vacation. How will this play out in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and among Christian Evangelical community in US?

I don't know why you all bag him for this. Sure, I hate hearing politicians talk about crap like this just as much as the rest of you, but at least it's very well intended and there's nothing to lose.

The White House acknowledges that it asked Georgetown University, a Catholic institution, to cover up prominent Christian symbols for President Obama's economic speech this past Tuesday. The symbols, the letters "IHS" which stands for Jesus Christ, and a cross, are engraved on a pediment that stands behind the stage from which Obama delivered his address. Both the cross and the symbolic representation of Jesus' name were not hidden by the background drapes that the White House wanted for the event, and so the Administration asked the school to cover them.

I was just checking some facts is all.

The Orthodox Jewish people start the week of the Feast of Tabernacles aka the Feast of the Ingathering, Feast of the Booths, Sukkoth, Succoth, or Sukkot on the 3rd of October 2009 and the Karaite Jews have it on the 5th of October 2009.

They both stop working to observe the feasts at those times. I was just curious as to if the Muslim people stop working for Ramadan.

This could be just conicidence. There were some questions way back that his father was a muslim arab and that he was taught in a muslim school but those rumors were not substantiated by MSM I think.


It would have been too ironic if a muslim man became POTUS after Southern Baptist Convention sends Land letter to Bush to try to bring Iraqis to salvation by inviting them to message of Jesus. Obama is probably a protetstant despite pesistent rumors in some southren baptist circles.
