The list of contributors is who individual said they worked for when they made contributions- it is not the companies making those contributions. If you donated to Ron Paul and listed your employer, they would be on this list somewhere. Check Ron Paul's list- is he beholden to the military industrial complex with his donors coming from the military and military contractors? Is he a big supporter of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Of using US military force abroad? No he is not. This is why you must be careful in using this list.

This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2008 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

In the case of Barak Obama, he had a reported $1,830 from PACs while John McCain raised $1.4 million from PACs and Ron Paul $18,332. The rest either came from individual donors or matching federal election funds (of the three, only McCain took federal election funds).
