I was just thinking the other day that with federal government "protecting" us on air flights now isn't it ironic that we all feel like hostages?

I wish this would happen all the time. People revolting against the defective system that is.

Sounds like a good case for False Imprisonment. I'd take the case. The airline would probably settle for $5-10k/per person.

I bet government regulations made that what it was.

I bet government regulations made that what it was.

They may raise that defense. With an international flight it is a real issue.

However, often times the pilots have a decision to make and are not required by government regulations. The conflict comes in that if the flight is completed they get paid; otherwise they do not. This has led to many pilots holding the planes for 2-8 hours and then taking off so they can complete the flight and get paid.

Either way, if you just bark at the airlines they will often times throw you a bone. I know a lady whose neck hurt after a 'hard landing.' They settled for $5k after a couple letters.
