Wasn't his name bantered about a while back as a VP possibility?

He seemed intelligent, rational, well spoken...what's his downside?

Do you guys have a short memory or what?

Syren123

Yes I do which is why I asked.
Okay then. He wanted RP out of THESE debates? If that's true, he's a wanker.

Steele hates Ron. He was in full attack mode after the first debate on Fox.

My thoughts exactly.

Steele was also the pundit that declared the Paul Campaign over immediately after the 15 May debate.

Dude is a neo-con hack and has no place in a Paul administration.

He said Dr. Paul was done after the second debate.

How long we've come since then.

Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina would be a good choice.. he and Ron are good friends and they served in Congress together

Paul/Keyes vs Hillary/Obama? :D

0zzy
09-28-2007, 12:53 AM
Paul/Stanford

vs

Obama/Edwards

That'd be a tough fight. If it is Hillary v Paul, it'd be easier. She's a socialist and untrustworthy and, I dono, a lot of people just don't like her. Paul, on the other hand, is for the freedom message :). Some people will vote for him just because he's a man and a Republican! :O

I still can't believe people are cutting a break to Keyes. Sorry, if you're not familiar with Austrian principles and such, you should not be VP. Walter Williams is the best choice for VP. Ron Paul hinted at him too for it, and name dropped him in the PBS debate.

Alan Keyes is in these debates to either help increase his speaking fees, or he has a book coming out. He's getting on TV to help his bottom line.

The guy disowned his gay daughter, didn't he?

I don't think his beliefs are anywhere near Paul's. And don't you remember in the Fox debate how he came out with Hannity afterwards laughing and saying that Paul's campaign was "through" after his blowback remark? Even if he were a conservative I still wouldn't want to reward that overt public slam of Paul with the VP spot.

Since when can you tell anything about a person to whom your only exposure is a 100% scripted 3 minute speech? I'm surprised people who fall for that stuff manage to become Ron Paul supporters in the first place. I would expect Hillary to be more up your alley.

Michael Steele for VP????

NO WAY!!!!

he's sold his soul already... i can only think of
one reason to run him as the VP and that is
if the RNC somehow thinks it will get them
"the black vote." frankly, this displays
the total lack of understanding for
"regular people" amongst the nation's
political class.

RP has "the black vote" he just has
to get used to the fact and learn
a little finesse (no, a debate coach
or image consultant will not be
able to provide this, i don't care
how much they are paid)...

reckon the other camps have
image consultants? of course
they do, that's why their getting
their @$$es handed to them by
the Good Dr.

the only problem Paul had last night
is coming to terms with the fact that
he is the one arguing from a position
of strength... we've gotten the world's
attention for him... now he just has
to come to terms w/ the practicalities
this fact entails....

i'm taking off for now, but i'll expand
on this further later....

Keyes would probably make a good Sec State. Hunter wouldn't be bad as Sec of Defense. Even though he is a war mongerer the president choses what and were we go. What about Tancredo for Homeland security until RP gets rid of it?

Alan Keyes would be a much, much, much better choice.

For those of you who like Alan Keyes, please give this a full listen.

He talks about killing, killing, and more killing. All in the name of the war on terror.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIuCjjAdTrE

I was at a church event that he attended here in Houston and he was really pushing the Christian Americans VS the Evil Muslims agenda.

The audio is from after the event was over and he was talking with people in the lobby.

Alan Keyes is very frightening...

reminds me of the old saying, "the devil's greatest
trick is convincing you he isn't here."

he makes it worse when he does his pulpit bit.

Unless I missed it, Steele "neglected" to shake the hand of ONE presidential candidate last night. Guess which one.

He belittled him on FOX, refused to introduce him in Texas while rigging a Duncan Hunter victory and setting arcane voting rules, and he never acknowledges Paul. I can see not hyping someone you do not like but Steels actions are obvious and shameful. He wanted Paul out early because he knew damn well this snowball would happen. And he will keep trying to isolate and hurt Ron.
